Although this is my first post , I'm not really new to nofap or its purpose. Over the past month I've made it my top priority to completely quit P & M , however with little success ( I struggle with making it past a few days). This week was the farthest I've made it , with a whopping 5 day streak ending today. One of the things I've read in success stories is that after some months without PMO , the lust for girls seems to diminish as well as looking at them objectively.

From my recent experience - the longer my streak , the more lustful I became. It became really hard for me to just not think about sex or girls. Id appreciate it if a veteran would give me any advice when temptations like these arise :)

Temptations arise due to testosterone, male sex hormones which shoots on 6th to 8th day once you've masturbated. It's more in your case due to habit of watching sex or girls. Your mental rewards of watching sexy girls is high which is why you're having some sort of mental tension being build up of not fapping. It's in your mind. Cut on your triggers.

I used to keep some real erotic wallpapers of Victoria's Secret models and I changed them, unsubscribed from all YouTube Channels of sexy nature, and not watching Insta anymore and unfollowing the hotties. And most important of all in your case, do not think about it. As soon as you're starting to think about it, substitute it with some equally rewarding thing like gaming or something.

You arent really getting far enough into a streak to truly see the benefits, the first couple of weeks are always hard and during that time you will be insanely horny almost all the time. Its once you push past that 2-3 week barrier that things start to even out. The best way to reduce the temptation is to simply not give your mind time to dwell on the thoughts when they arise, be that via exercise, work, a hobby, sport, or some combination of things, ultimately only you can decide what works best.

I also wanted to state that for me, the lust doesnt fully go away, it just changes to something more healthy. Where once I would lust after porn and fake porn scenarios, now I think more about intimacy and genuine love with a woman. This is ultimately more healthy than just trying to outright repress your sex drive, at least in my opinion.

  4. @AtomicTango I wouldn't call desiring intimacy and genuine love to be lust since lust is the absence of those things.

Yeah I should have worded that better, what I meant was is that the desire is still there, but it becomes a desire for more healthy things as opposed to just pure lust.
