I don't understand how, after masturbating once, for the first time in 12 days, without any images or sex chat, I feel so shit, so lifeless and weak, so lethargic and so pessimistic the next day. How can this be possible?

Some users agree that masturbation, within limits, is kind of normal.

It's cause you're releasing all your life force in one go. When I fap after a week, I release a lot of my swimmers. I see that as all my motivation flushing down the toilet.

I guess it's cause we go from high motivation to zero motivation.
Earlier when we fapped regularly we went from slight motivation to zero motivation.

Now if we fap after a gap of even 2 weeks, it's charged-up body to zero battery. Thus we feel like shit.

I visualize the cum storing in my testicles as some lake of life. The more the lake the better it is. And i dont want to drain it out.

If lake goes dry, all fishes die.

Yeah on top of the physical symptoms, there are the feelings of guilt and disapointment internally.

I want to be a spunk ball, bro.

I feel exactly the same if I go for more than a week and then masturbate, once I relapsed after a month and it literally made me ill for a few days. There probably is a proper scientific reason for it, something to do with body chemistry perhaps, but there is also the feeling of failure that makes it 10x worse.

True to feeling of failure. We become obessessed with nofap. i used to long to reach a day when i will write a post in success stories forum. so the more i relapse the farther i go from that goal. failure also brings disappointment.

Don't know the exact science behind it, but your brain is not used to the high amounts of dopamine surges you used to have when you O'ed almost daily (on P). Now you abstain for days, weeks or even months. So you brain normalizes and resensitizes to the smaller dopamine release you get from f.i. eating a good meal, having a good conversation or a simple hug. When you MO, or worse, PMO after a while your brain reaches therefore a higher high than before and that is being countered afterwards with a lower low than before.

I also have the same thing now: even if I 'just MO' after week, I feel more lethargic, mellow and demotivated than when I used to (P)MO every day. I think the only way you can counter this only O when having sex with a real girl you like / love: the oxytocin and serotonin that's being released will counter the aftereffects of the O. I've even read that sex without O is better for you like Tantra or Karezza: then you will enjoy the increased oxytocin and serotonin e.g. the feelings of bonding with your partner without sexual (over)satisfaction. Leaving you in a much much better state (long) afterwards. I've read this book about it, which was very interesting:Cupid's Poisoned Arrows

in PMO, M is the thing that breaks you the most. I went on M'ing 3 years after I left P, it's almost the same as watching P and M. There is a little difference on what the P does to you, but M is wasting your strength and makes you depressed and everything else.

Yeah ... the release from M'ing isn't the same as with sex. They both have very different psychological and biological responses. The release from sex is much more positive on your well-being. Having said that, not O'ing at all is not good for the prostate. You reduce your risk of prostate cancer by 35% by O'ing a few times a week. The human body is a pain in the butt.
