    Hey fellow fapstronauts.

So I broke a 160+ day streak last night. A crazy chain of events happened and here I am. Im just trying my hardest not to binge right now and i find posting here helps. Does anyone have any experience or tips to help me get over the hump of a relapse?

Hey buddy, I'm in the same boat as you, but I just want to say a big cheer for your massive streak you had. Most guys actually think it's impossible to not masturbate for that long, so well done :)

There's only one thing that would possibly keep me from slipping again right away after an initial relapse, and that is being around other people and making plans to do lots of stuff. It's when you are alone and in the very place where you relapsed that your mind will start to tell you it's ok to keep going. Go out and do things with people, go to work if you can, go buy a kayak and go camping with some people. But for goodness sakes do not spend time alone with a device that you could relapse with.

Nice work on the streak. One slip won't kill your progress. But if you binge you will lose it all and possibly be worse off than before your streak.

Hi there, congertulatiins to your 160 days streak, you're incredible dude.
Anyway if I were you here is what I will do ( you don't have to it if you felt not suitable for you ):

Just pretend you didn't relapse and you still on your big counter here, it would make you feel much better because you didn't hold it for days or weeks, we are spreaking of huge months here so why do you want to miss 160 days for one relapse? Like I said it is your call to do it or not but I just want you to feel better because I know the feeling of destroying a good streak.
    Good luck man :)

Hey there, Dragon. Sorry to hear about your streak being broken. One of the things that helps me is to remember that all 160+ days of sobriety are still yours. When you relapse, it can set up the cycle of PMO over again, but it doesn't really take you back to day 1 of your recovery. If you were climbing a mountain, you're not at the bottom of the mountain, you just slid back a little way. You can do this. Remember that binging makes recovery worse, not better. You can be back on track in a matter of weeks, not months. Take it one day at a time. Get an accountability partner if you don't already have one(and keep in contact with your AP--to begin with...at least daily, but it should not go more than a week without contact with your AP...in emergencies, you can reach out to your AP for strength/support. If you haven't done so, talking with someone about the relapse can help to provide a different perspective on your crazy chain of events--maybe seeing a different way for you to deal with the unexpected in the future. Just some thoughts. It's not over. You may have succumbed to a small skirmish, but you've been winning battles, and the enemy is desperate to demoralize you. Remember that the desire to PMO can come from negative feelings (which happen to be so natural at the conclusion of PMO). Get right back into the ring...show no fear...be the master of your own destiny!

Rooting for you, bro. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

My advice to you is don't do it for the streak!!

do it for the amazing benefits of what abstinence has for you! Humans aren't perfect so don't expect to be! Its what you do most of the time that counts!

Ignore the one slip up and keep going man!

I'm really struggling myself and your story is incredible - going 160 days and still feeling bad after- i joined 20 days ago and have only done 10 days, so ur an inspiration.

can you tell me/us what benefits you have found in the last 160 days? and maybe what feelings you had after relapsing? perhaps that would help you and others.
so were benefits like, happier life, better relationships, not thinking of sex and women as objects?
were negatives after depression, losing memory and focus?

hope to hear from you soon.

Sure, My Life was alot happier for sure. Knowing that PMO didnt have control over my life for that long was great. I had tons of hobbies was working out 6 days a week sweating buckets literally everyday I really felt good about myself. Also my memory and focus were off the charts. My boss kept pointing out how much more focused and productive I have been this year. My relationships didn't change much because I always appreciated my friends and am generally a really friendly person even before nofap. The fantasizing about women did go away but it took a while. Also, Thanks for your kind words Monkeyman feel free to pm me if you have any questions about my story or any advice i would be happy to give you.

Like I said i don't really feel much different after i relapsed. I thought I would wake up with brain fog but i feel normal. The chaser effect is very real though. Got to be careful. I'm just hard on myself because my goal was actually 1 year. Even thought my counter was 160 days this is actually the first time I PMO in the year 2014. The first couple months i was edging and reset my counter.
