I am experiencing real happiness in a long, long time and it has nothing to do with my circumstances (which are the same since I started nofap). I used to laugh earlier too, but the "quality" of laughter is much better now: spontaneous and genuine. The blues are gone, along with my fascination with negative/nihilistic philosophy and literature. Earlier, my mind would auto-overanalyze a lot of things, almost always in a negative manner. Now there is just a sense of calm. It is as if the engine responsible for it has suddenly and completely shut down. Just amazing.

    To those who are out:

Please persist. Allow yourself to relapse, then start again. I can tell from personal experience that till nofap is a conscious effort for you, relapses will happen. However, after a certain amount of failures you will reach a stage where looking at porn/masturbation would require a conscious effort, not nofap, which would appear to be the "natural" state to you. The urge would be passive and distant most of the time and would only emerge when something (e.g., a specific visual) happens to trigger it. At such moments, you can manage it more easily.

I cannot tell how many relapses it would take you to reach this state. Perhaps you would be lucky enough to have an experience that makes something "snap" inside you instantly, like I did. Perhaps it will happen after a certain amount of failures. Regardless, please keep going. Do not despair if you relapse after 1 day. Do not despair if you relapse after 100. Every day is a new day. Every day is a new chance at life.

Hell yeah. Five days. I've been a lot more social and assertive as of late, not even close to being self-confident, but I have been more confident than usual. This is great.

I look forward to reaching this state you describe. I have always been overly analytical and this led me to purchasing just about every self-help book ever published in a bid to fix myself (which now seems very ego-centric)! I have made countless tick sheets to make me achieve goals and maintain routines, none of which helped. My obsessive personality has meant me wasting many hours/days on news pages, apps or anything procrastination-related! I am cutting it all out now and I only go online for this website and to check emails. Every day I am tempted, but I am trying to use NoFap as the foundation for quitting other habits. I am still overly negative and cynical so I need to watch my thoughts, and meditation may help with this. Good luck to you.

Guys... This challenge is all about abstinence for 180 days and then after that you decide what you want to do about PMO. The normal time for reboot is 90 days but a lot don't successfully reboot by then, hence the 180 days. It's all about seeing how your life changes in these 180 days and then deciding at the end if it's worth it.

What I'd recommend is when you start, write down everything that's going on in your life right now, good and bad things. You don't need to update all the time as this can be a pain in the ass but at the end of the 180 days, write down everything that's happening in your life at that time and compare it with your notes from the beginning and see if NoFap has improved your life then decide what you want next. :)

You only have to survive these 180 days and then you can decide if PMO has had a negative affect on your life or if the benefits of abstinence aren't worth dealing with urges! either way, all you have to focus on right now is surviving for 180 days. Good luck!

Day 14 is almost over so it is now 2 weeks since I quit pmo, honestly the first 10 days were a lot easier. The urges have really tempted me again the last couple of days but nevertheless I will stay strong. Don't give up guys!!!

Hard financial straits going on in my life, not the greatest living situation and my family is erratic in one of the worst ways possible. Attempting to hold on despite the overwhelming nature of it all, despite the fact that I feel rather sad.
