On a more serious note, this may be a good strategy. As habits start in thoughts, exposing the thoughts can be like nipping the habit in the proverbial bud.

And on a spiritual level, if you are bringing light to even the thoughts of darkness, the bringers of dark thoughts are less likely to come one's way :D
