Don't think of it as ABANDONING a part of yourself; think of it as CHANGING yourself.
Remember, this is a journey of IMPROVEMENT, not DESTRUCTION.
Good perspective, it also addresses our physiology. You can't destroy neural pathways in the brain. You can create new pathways and walk those pathways so they become stronger, thus "habit", and the old ones become weaker and are less likely to be "walked" and aren't affecting so strong
True, it's meaningful when you think of it that way. That's why the process is called "rewiring", not "recreating".
By the way, this is a bit late but I know you relapsed recently, and I just hope that things have been going back according to plan for you. You have my full support and I wish you a good recovery :)
