One thought, though unprobable now, is to track people’s subconscious cues. It’s actually kind of freaky. Many of our “conscious” choices originate in the subconscious mind. It’s been mapped and proven with brainwaves.

Just gotta map what brainwaves represent a relapse, hook gadgets on people’s heads and construct some kind of support mechanism.

There’s the inherit question of how do we know exactly when someone is going to relapse. Deep machine learning and massive invasion of privacy is the only other thing I can think of to replace peeking into someone’s brainwaves.

Seems, maybe. But it’s an Orwellian nightmare. Think about it like inviting Big Brother in to your whole life just to prevent a relapse.

The same kind of algorithms that could predict a relapse could also predict when you’ll be hungry and thirsty, and who you want to vote for.
