How do I start to eat more? For me, getting enough calories and nutrition is the hardest part. I track my calories and try to eat more calorically dense stuff.

You want to eat more? Are you skinny or skinny fat? Eating calorically dense stuff is going to be carbs and fats, and that will not be healthy.

Are you trying to get bulked up? If you have a slim body type, it'd be easier to be cut than bulky.

Well, I don't recommend it because keeping the muscle is a lot of daily maintenance. If you stop, it turns to fat. Then you have a problem. And if you do it, but get injured, then you have a problem. Being cut and slim is better.

Wait are you saying I shouldn’t try to build muscle and stay skinny? Or am I messing up my vocab.

No, it is good to build muscle, but you were talking about "bulking". If you "bulk" out, it's more than muscle building.

Bulking out is when an athlete eats all the calories they can, and focus on weight lifting or some other high intensity, like cross fit. Sumo wrestlers are a good example. They don't care if they get muscle or fat, they just want "a lot". Get it?

Ah ok, thanks. So what do you call just muscle building? Just "muscle building"?

Yeah, if you want to do that, weights are the money. But if you can add cardio, you can have more stamina for weight lifting.

Interesting. I think I shouldn't do too much cardio though because that burns unnecessary calories.

Cardiovascular stamina will give you more capacity to lift and get built.

What types of cardio do you recommend then? Or is there some place I can go to to find this stuff out

I guess it depends on what you can do and what you want to do. Cardio comes in a million forms, from running, elliptical, swimming, rowing, biking, etc.

Oh ok. I guess I'll just run every now and then or something lol. Had decent stamina before quarantine and was doing sprints and stuff but stopped since.

The difference, just FYI, is in what muscles are used. For explosive motion, fast twitch muscles are active. Slow twitch muscles come into play for cardio.
