U don’t have to hate it. Just see it as what it is. It's not moral also consumes body and mind energy. Creates addiction, Also degrades human mind. It's nothing but novelty, one equals to hundred. Same in nature. So no point in being afraid of it.

I agree with @High_Tide, you don't have to hate porn. And nor will hating it make you porn free. For some people, it's like they are living in the same house with porn but porn no longer effects them. We live in the world with porn but instead of hating it we can detach ourselves from it, or like High_Tide says, just accept it for what it is - something you choose not to indulge in.

I used to drink and abuse alcohol. Now I can be around it and it doesn't effect me. I don't hate it, I simply choose not to let it effect me, nor do I entertain any spect of interest in it.

I’ll have to agree to disagree gentlemen. The point is well taken and I don’t plan to make my life’s work hating it. But it is an evil and immoral thing which no good can come from. I would hope that no one ever used it again because even to the non-addict it can only be a negative.

Alcohol in moderation to the non-addict can be a good thing and provide actual benefits. I don’t believe the same can be said about porn.

Hmmm, interesting positioning. I think I would rather pray for strength to love Jesus (righteousness) than pray for strength to hate Satan (evil). It may be a play on words. I totally get what you’re saying though. I have actually prayed that my desire for lust be taken away.

I would disagree that to hate what is wicked is somehow in league with Satan. I would point to Proverbs 8:7 which label wickedness as an abomination, or James 4 with calling those who make friends with the world enemies of God. I think psalms point us to love Gods ways and hate the ways of the wicked.

I would also add that my prayers through Christ are to be filled the Holy Spirit that I walk in the light of the Lord. I don’t pray to hate but again see it as in line with scripture to hate what (never who) is wicked. Though we pray for our lust to be taken away we will not be fully rid of our old Adam until Christ comes again.
