Hey guys. Here’s a lil bit about me and my addiction to porn.
I was rejected by the girl I liked when I was 13( her brother told me she thought I was ugly). I was devastated, and I soon discovered porn. It was a godsend because I thought I was so far away from actually interacting with an actual female. Plus with porn it was available whenever I wanted it, and I didn’t have to risk getting hurt.
Ever since then it’s been a part of my daily life. Whenever there was time to rub one out, I’d take it.
When I turned 21, I got back in the gym( to impress a girl) and got addicted to the progress I was seeing. I lost 40 lbs, journaling my gains on social media. Girls I had always dreamed of getting were liking my posts. My coworkers all thought I was very attractive. The admiration served as validation for me, but if I didn’t get praise I thought I was doing something wrong.
I got a date with the girl that i started working out for, and it was a disaster. I was so quiet the whole time, and I could tell she was bored.
That was a little over a year ago. I’ve had a few successful dates since then, but I know I’m capable of much more. I get compliments from strangers on my looks. I don’t mention this to brag, but more of a reminder for myself that I am worthy of love.
My goals I hope to achieve from quitting porn are:
- the ability to build and maintain healthy relationships
- the ability to focus on my goals without the urges
- cure my social anxiety.
