Just trying this out... Hey everybody, nice to meet you. I'm seventeen years old, I like nice cups of coffee and long walks on the beach and... Oh yeah, I've been doing this like three or four times a day since I was about twelve.
I don't even feel bad about it anymore. Like five years ago I wasn't even close to as religious as I am now and I would flip out and feel absolutely awful about myself. To be honest, it's kinda like I'm comfortably numb. Like a pervy, high functioning sociopath that wants to please God and be the right guy for his girlfriend but can't stop watching videos and checking out girls as they walk down the hall or into work. It's selfish, I understand... I've manipulated people and taken pictures of them when they weren't looking and talked to strangers on the internet, and I'm beyond the point of even feeling bad about it... I'm typing this with a completely straight face. It's like my heart covered itself with a layer of soot and excuses and deep down there I know that I've become this awful person. That part still shines through sometimes, but in tiny... Tiny doses. That's why I'm here I guess.
Like I said, for the longest time it wasn't unusual for me to do that three or four times a day. More recently it's slid down to once a day, with occasional relapses... I've even skipped a few days, but never more than one at a time and rarely in the same week. I started reading this book awhile back called "every young man's battle", and it inspired me to make a few changes or at least... Try. So I started carrying a rubber band around my wrist and snapping it everytime I checked somebody out, making a tally on my arm so I could keep track of my progress. I'm terrible, and I know it. But I've started trying to better myself in other areas of my life, so... This is worth a shot I guess. And this sunday, I'm going to try to talk to my Pastor about getting baptized which would be huge for me. I don't know, welcome to my efforts I guess. I'm really gonna try here.

  3. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profilesection..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal. Make sure and be grateful for the help you received and help after receiving some. Invest in some people's journeys. We could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
