Hard to say. It can be a withdrawal symptom and I would guess that it is but of course it can be from something else (stress, lack of vitamins, etc). I have only felt a little bit of itching in my head during nofap.

Have you taken any medicine? Ibuprofen helps me whenever I get a headache. Hang in there, the pain is temporary. You must go through hell if you’re ever going to break free.

  4. @Jefe Rojo ahh! I just saw from your original post that you tagged me in this? I never saw a tag or else I would have joined, so bummed. Thanks for the invite though, I know it's too late now.

  5. Day 14 - feeling less in control and very tired. Will behave myself tho. Come too far to blow it now. Been a long week work wise. I think my work is quite strssful which doesn't help, even tho its been a good working week. Just feeling drained. And i sort of understand why I chose PMO in the past as relief.........

.... but that lifestyle is not worth it. Will go sleep with a slightly sore head. Im sure things will improve

Been feeling pretty darn good. Quit sure it's because of the fasting. This is my last day (day 36) of no food or drink from sunup to sundown. The benefits have been little to no cravings (I've managed to keep sexual thoughts & urges at bay), mental clarity and mental sharpness, increased self-control, increased spirituality, and plenty of health gains. Tomorrow I go off the fast. I'm going to miss having a brain unpolluted by unwanted sexual thoughts from porn. I plan to go back to fasting part time in the future, maybe twice a week.

    On to day 25,
Today I woke at 7am and started feel the same Like feeling empty,so lost and sadness (for no reason), some kind of constant fear is still there (like some one is going to do something to me or my family).
Guy I want to ask you all, is becoming paranoia during nofap journey is common? Have any experienced?
I started this nofap journey for the first time in late 2019 and that time I just started without thinking anything about it or it’s consequences, slowly I started to distrust on people around ( in fact I had this issue from my college days but it got triggered and become severe during dec-19 to jan-20), I always had a feeling of people around me planning something against me and they want to harm me, when ever I go out I always use to feel like every is watching me and while riding I had a constant fear of some is going to hit and some times I use feel like I’m going to die soon (this all happened in the span of 54 days and that was my first best streak, so even after 54days I didn’t notice any changes, then I relapsed on day 54) I think on day 44 I thought of consulting a psychiatrist cuz I knew all these happening cuz of some psychological reasons so after consulting him he gave antidepressant & antipsychotic capsule but while taking that capsule I use to feel like, if I take this tablet I’ll die so I never dared to take that, so when ever I go out I use to feel like some one following me and watching (I can relate it to John wick3 movie story).
Meanwhile this lockdown started, from then I’m try to quit this PMO shit, so from then onwards my streaks were 19days,10,5,4 & now I’m on day 25.

My apologies, if I made any mistakes guys cuz I’m not a native English speaker. But I definitely need all of your help improve my English skills.

I think that you should talk to some psychologist or to some doctor about those things that you wrote here. I believe that paranoia is not a common symptom here. I'm not going to guess what you should do or how severe is your situation because I hope that you talk to some professionals. They could help you a much more than we can here.

Paranoia is a symptom of PMO, read the book of the Soaring Eagle.
Yes paranoia is not a common symptom, but it's still a symptom.
Soaring Eagle said that it will pass as time goes forward and the experts won't understand the reason, since they are not experts on the negative sides of PMO, but they mostly support harmless theries, so won't help to ask advice from them, but mental support could be good for the time moving forward.

If it were me I would take the medicine. It might be PMO related but what if it’s not? I would trust a medical professional. If medicine would help at all, I would take it.

I agree. We are not qualified to make diagnoses and depression and paranoia are real and can negatively impact your life, maybe those things are triggering your PMO. @Nikhil001o

Another great day for running! I’m doing well, no urges. Had a pretty crazy fetish dream last night but after those dreams I remind myself that dreams are strange and I have no control over them. Have a great day everyone.

@Juha were you fasting for religious reasons or was it a personal choice? I know fasting has helped me in the past too. I didn’t do it quite as extreme as you but I did fast food and water for 24 hours at a time and it seemed to help me get control of myself for a bit.

But that kind of lifestyle can only be temporary. We must learn to deal with the realities of normal life and eating and drinking more regularly. I like your idea of still fasting every once in a while.

Hey Jefe, thanks for asking. You may be familiar with Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Islamic (lunar) calendar, and the holy month of fasting for Muslims. It started on April 24 and finished on May 23. So, as a Muslim, my fast was strictly for religious purposes.
However, I did see benefits related to PMO, and thought I would share them with you guys in case someone wanted to give fasting a whirl. But I'm in no way recommending such a long, continuous fast for dealing with PMO. There is another type of fasting, which I'm sure you're aware of, called intermittent fasting. It's very popular around the world, and is effective for losing weight and boosting health, including mental health. Some doctors recommend doing a 24 hour fast, as you did Jefe, once or twice a month. Some recommend fasting twice a week by skipping two meals and eating one meal. Others talk about having a fasting window every day such as 16/8 (i.e. 16 hours fast, 8 hours feed) or 18/6 or 20/4 (which is quite hard!). Warning: During the feed part, don't stuff your face for eight whole hours. Just eat the way you normally do while trying to limit carbs and sugars.

  19. End of day 15 - one thing I have realised on this journey, besides the headaches and brainfog, and fighting those urges time to time.. is how my mind responds to everyday situations. I never realised how stressful my job was and how that in turn makes me feel numb and think I deserve some fap time. Crazy!

But once I stopped fapping, I see that there are real issues I need to address, rather than use my 'happy go lucky' attitude.

Its a real experience to start to witness life for what it is... PMO takes us away from what is real. I dont particularly enjoy the stress, although I do enjoy my job, but it is really interesting to see how I used PMO in past to take me away from my life. Where as now, I am slowly learning to adapt to the situation and although sometimes stress is unpleasant, it feels better to tackle it head on rather than run away from it.

It also feels very unsettling to tackle these issues without PMO, as my brain is so use to the easy route. It is very unsettling to witness what I have been putting off all this time. Hopefully it will get easier.

Thanks for sharing this information. I have a lot of respect for all religions and I think that anything that helps us grow closer to deity is a worthwhile pursuit. I especially have a lot of respect for Muslims because the standards you all live by align with a lot of the standards of my religion. That’s great that you have found that fasting benefits you in your recovery from PMO as well. In the past I have fasted whenever urges were bad and it seemed to help them go away. For my own religious purposes I fast for 24 hours on the first Sunday of every month. I used to fast every Friday as well and I could tell a difference. I think with anything in life, moderation is the key. If we take things to the extreme it can turn detrimental to what we are trying to accomplish.
