Im posting this here to open a discussion about 12 step sex addiction groups based after the model of AA, Alcoholics Anonymuse.

I live in Los Angeles, the porn factory for the USA, but we are lucky enough to also have tons of 12step groups around sex addiction, SLAA sex and love addicts anonymuse, which as about 60 meetings a week in the LA area and coed. SAA sex addicts anonymuse, mostly men addicted to porn, hookers, message parlors, etc. SA, sexaholics anonymuse, which is more christian based with a rule of no mastubation and no sex outside of marrage. And SCA, sexual compusives anonymuse, which is mostly gays acting out crazy in bathhouses and casual hook ups with strangers..

Point being, im lucky to have one on one support with this addiction with peopel in person at meetings I can goto in any part of town morning, noon, and night. Also, can call up a person and talk to a brother when im triggered and shaky.

I feel nofap.com is great and I come here too as their is a language and discussion directly about porn addiction, and PIED and other stuff that i feel people can discuss more open and freely as we dont know who anyone is with no faces or real names so it gives a freedom to tell the truth and discuss slips and whats really going on that i found people sometimes are too ashamed or afraid to tell the truth in a 12 step meeting face to face, expecialy in SLAA when you are a male with women present..

But I also feel that nofap.com being another website keeps people still locked into the cyber world and interacting with blips on a screen rather than real human contact. I get for some, its all they got. Im happy to use both. I need all the help i can get!

But i guess i just wanted to put out there that there are other resouces to also help heal from this addiction maybe right in your own city. Plus all these 12 step programs have their own websites with information and support to beat sex addiction.

Any thoughts in this area are welcome. Your own experiance with 12step groups for addictions. And how you might feel about the difference about recovering from this addiction with real live humans who know your real 1st name rather than still being just on a screen and living a porn free life in the real world..

I agree that help in person is far more powerful than help on the internet. The face to face interaction works wonders if you have courage to do so.
