Congratulations to those who are starting, or are still going strong! Im proud of this community and the courage to quit.
I used to be an ex user of porn, the worst decision in my life, I was bounded to it, unable to stop, 8 years of grueling pain and suffering.
Low confidence, no self esteem, no self advocacy, unable to make friends, isolated, depressed.
To everyone who has a friend who may be struggling, or someone that you know, please don't hesitate to help them, its worth a shot!
One way I was able to quit was to resist urges, sounded hard at first, some days I even got 10/10 urges, really strong urges, but I kept my ground and easily beat them. One of the main reasons I was still addicted back then, was because I thought I was giving up something.
YOU ARE NOT!, Its a trap, its designed to make you continue watching it, you are not losing anything, only disadvantages and worse symptoms. Think of it this way. Imagine that your brain is a water slide, the little monster in your head advocates you to go down, why? It needs to be fed. When you go down, 3 seconds of dopamine and then CRASH. Regret, depression, self hatred.
Porn has no advantages, the reason most men cant quit, is because they are stuck in the PMO cycle, the monster needs to be fed because they think that Porn is awarding, when in fact its not! Why settle for 3 secs of cheap dopamine? When you can live your life free and unbounded. You cant do a "porn diet" or "quick peak".
THEY DON'T EXIST!, you cant cut down, the little monster is smart and will try to outsmart you to get that 3 second dopamine rush, if you can break out of that cycle and kill that monster. You will be one million times happier! When I quit, it was an amazing decision, my confidence came back, I was more socialized and people even noticed my essence.
To all that are quitting, please note that not all people will try to quit, especially those are stuck in the PMO cycle, but to those that are quitting, i'm so proud of you! You guys are so smart, strong and resilient! Porn is the worst drug, if you read the SPAM REMOVED (spam code #001) - REPORT TO MODERATION, then you can quit as well!
