Hey i'm a 25 year old guy living in the UK. I'm looking at starting an accountability group where we try and kick this habit. My goal is to stop watching porn and masturbating. A little about me I work in IT and hobbies include hitting the gym and kickboxing. Looking at creating this group for guys in their 20's as we have some stuff in common regarding this and have been doing this for the same amount of time etc. Also happy to do general self improvement stuff as I've found the more you're busy the easier this is. If you're interested comment below.
I am 21 and I think your idea of a grouo would be helpful. I am currently on my day 5 out of a 90 day challenge. Not had big problems or urges yet, but I know it might get worse in the future... A little bout me: I am a university student, so this holiday period is sometimes hard due to lack of schedules and loads of free time. I try to avoid P thoughts going to the gym and being surroundes by people as much as I can. I will be starting a summer job next monday btw. Aa you said: the more busy you are, rhe easier it gets! Arthur Bramble is it your day 0?
@PeterGattsburg Yeah it's day 0 for me. Where are you from? Any other goals you'd like to achieve in the 90 days. What platform do you like using whatsapp etc.?
I'm from Spain. My users name is the name of a character of a book I read some time ago haha Other goals? Try to read more. Go to the gym as much as I can. I'd like to gain muscle mass and be defined b4 the start of the next academic year ( october) What are your other goals? I use whatsapp, but we could use the nofap forum for the moment idk
Hi! I would like to join a 20's male accountability group, if you don't mind. I'm 21 years old, from the United States. I have been struggling with PMO since the age of 12. I have wanted to kick the habit for a long time, with not much success. I work at a little family owned craft store. I have three dogs and a cat. I enjoy reading and exercising. I just recently applied to college and am waiting to hear if I'm accepted. I have WhatsApp myself as well, but I am open to whatever form or communication you want to use.
The time lapse between our two contintents could make it difficult to keep with the AP thing but we can try!! I think I have a very alike story: have been struggling with PMO since early teens and now I am also trying to be accepted in another college (I am almost finishing my uni degree)
Cool i think i'll wait till the weekend is over and then we can sort out how to stay in touch. I think whatsapp would be best but if people want anonymity then i'm sure there are other options. I'm thinking this can be more of a group where we check in once a day and can talk about other goals as well. If people want something more then its probably better to get an accountability partner rather than a group.
Sounds great! I used to have an AP from Norway, so I don't think the timing should be too much of an issue. Also hi @RhysTheAlien ! Welcome
@PeterGattsburg Personally, I consider it one of the greatest tools you can use, if not the greatest. I will point out that I had an accountability partner before, not an accountability group, so it is different, but still. I have struggled for a long time with my PMO addiction. I basically got to the point of giving up. But meeting my AP was a game changer. It is insane how much it helps. Knowing there is someone out there who actually cares if you fail or not. Someone who can give encouragement and who can help you through the rough times. It is truly an amazing experience. Having an AP helped me reach my longest streak ever. It is truly an amazing thing, to have that kind of support. As for advice. Just be honest. Don't be afraid to share the nitty gritty stuff. What were dealing with is a sensitive topic. To have a successful accountability partner or group, you need to be able to feel like you can tell the honest truth without fear of being judged. I would also add that having an AP or AG is a two way street. Sometimes what happens is one person pours their heart and soul into helping others, and no one else reciprocates. So just try to remember that we should all be doing our equal part.
28 yo M Would like to have an AP Been in various in person groups throughout the years with intermittent success. Looking for a group or partner that doesn’t require in person meetings
Hi, I'm really excited to join this group. I'm a 27 yr old male from.... I have been struggling with PMO addiction and I haven't been successful in resolving it. As a student I am going to take an exam in almost two weeks But after doing that I'll have enough time to be part of the group. As a means of communication I'd rather web apps because at the time of speaking I don't have a smart phone.
Ok everyone who's interested in joining the group can you please pm me. The two options i think would be best is either a whatsapp group or a telegram group for keeping in contact. Whatsapp wouldn't be anonymous and telegram would be. Let me know you're thoughts
Hey Arthur, I think this is a great idea. I’m 27 and a man. I’ve been trying to kick this addiction for a long time. I would love to be part of the group. Idk what telegram is, but if it’s an app I’ll download it. Also, I’m more than happy to trade numbers with anyone who is willing to be accountability partners with me. I need as many people as I can get to reach out to if I’m feeling triggered to prevent relapse. I just started my sobriety clock from Porn and Masturbation and I’d also like to go 90 days without orgasm. I think that would be good for me.
