An update of what's happened lately- I haven't checked in here in quite some time. I haven't relapsed into anything over the last few days, but I am resetting my counter because my biggest focus is self-improvement, and consistency. So from today I will stay clean and also make sure I am also remaining consistent with myself and my daily tasks. I am wishing all the best for everyone else here!

This is coming from someone who took cold showers for 4 years: They are a double edged blade

Cold showers can be useful, especially for discipline, but I consider them to basically be like using drugs now. All you do is stand in a shower and flex your muscles, and you get an adrenaline and dopamine rush that you didn't really earn. Your body reacts the way it does because being in that cold of water triggers a survival situation. It's a waste of dopamine and adrenaline.

I noticed that on days I took cold showers, I was much less likely to lift as much weight as usual, I was much less likely to complete a second workout that day, and I was much more likely to take a tired nap and demolish my schedule. I've also noticed that most people who advocate ice cold showers are usually either on steroids or look... out of shape despite the benefits. Since stopping them, I'm in the best shape of my entire life.

TLDR: Cold showers trigger fight or flight and adrenaline responses, exhausting energy that could have been put towards developing physical patterns or moving weights. It is a low-tier use of your time and energy.

    In!

My version of the challenge is to take at least 1 cold shower a week.
