30 DAYS!!! I AM A THIRD OF THE WAY THERE AWWWWWW YISSSSSSS. (Shooting for 90.)

The time has arrived my dear friends. Through thick and thin, hardship and progress, and more than a few cold showers i have reached a month clean. I refuse to take the credit myself as individuals like @Gaston, @SolidStance, @jipjap, @the_grindel, @Amedeo92, @IGY, and many more have been the real MVPs on my team. If it wasn't for the support of everyone here on this bastion of the net i wouldn't have made it this far. So in addition to feeling a great sense of personal pride i just wanted to say thanks folks ;).

Some thoughts about my journey so far:

    • Idle hands are your worst enemy. Take the time to choose what you will do with your day or it will run you! Your life is no different so stay frosty and be mindful of your thoughts and your goals.
    • Exercise is the best companion you can ask for on this journey of self growth. As a natural mood lifter you will be hard pressed to find a more efficient way to get you into the mood to win! I would not have been able to get this far without it.
    • On that note i must say that mindset is %100 most vital to succeeding in this or any worthwhile endeavor. If you bring positive thoughts into your life you will in turn receive it. And you think negative thoughts... well i think you get the picture.
    • Helping others is the biggest tool in my arsenal. Reaching out to newbies and supporting veterans alike has been a wonderful experience for me here. I like to think i have made a positive impact in the trials and tribulations of some of our soldiers and have no plans on stopping.
    • PMO is a subtle and patient beast. You will feel fine all day but the moment you let your guard down it will be there... breathing down your neck with a sickly sweet fog clouding your thoughts. Your hands will move to type in familiar haunts on the web and the excuses and lies begin to creep into you brain. "What can one little peek won't hurt", "This thumbnail looks racy lets check it out!" or even just plain boredom can bring you perilously close to ruin. Keep your thoughts close and your urges closer friends. Or they will own you once again.
    • And last but not least the realization that this reboot goes beyond just quitting PMO. It is a top to bottom lifestyle change! You begin to see the world differently after a time. Your mind clears up and suddenly you have all this time you don't even know how to fill! Facing your depression and loneliness becomes easier as you go do things instead of trap yourself in front of the screen. We all came to PMO for different reasons but rebooting helps you grow mature enough to face them. Make no mistake if you don't crush the mental demons that brought you to the dark reaches of the web you will inevitably get stuck there once again.

Thank you again everyone who has been reading my raving, rambling, rants and please reach out if you want to talk. People are awesome and together we can become double the awesome. Possibly even triple the awesome but i don't wish to bend space time so lets just take it easy.

    Stay Strong,

    -Slylen

Congrats Stylen!!! 30 days is huge! I loved your first point "Idle hands are your worst enemy." That right there says it all. I think NoFap's motto is "quit porn, live a more awesome life" but the two go hand in hand, one can't exist without the other and indeed the reverse is true- "live a more awesome life, quit porn." I think the single most effective way to quit porn is by living that life you want (going to the gym, working harder at your job). You likely won't have success if you spend your days eating potato chips and watching TV. Side note idk if you're a Smiths fan or not but I have to include this song lyric from "what difference does it make" (it is too relevant). "The devil will find work for idle hands to do," keep your days busy and in those quiet moments of relax stay alert.

    Congrats again! Stay strong brother,
