I'm like at almost 2 days , I didn't give in, there where times where my mind says, just give up, why go for such a big challenge, go easy mode but I was like, there is a chance and here I am

  2. I'm now on day 8 of no music and still haven't got any urges to listen to even though I get music lyrics daily playing in my head.

  3. I failed yesterday... After my NoFap relapse I was so desparated that I needed something to boost my dopamine levels. I was craving for both sugar and music, luckily I didn't are any sugary crap, but I listened to music and it was beautiful.
    Day 1 again

I want to know whether listening to music while updating/posting or while eating is considered relapse or not (in easy mode)

  6. It's really up to you to decide. Personally I would recommend you being present while you're eating. Since I started eating slowly and trying to think about food in my mouth, eating has become another experience for me! You will fell taste much more, and also you will digest food better, because the digestion process starts in your mouth. But I guess that in easy mode it's okay to pick some activities when you are allowed to listen to music if you want. This challenge is not about torturing yourself. You are allowed to set your own rules because everybody is different. I've chosen a hard mode because I really need it, I'm hard core addict. :D

I failed back to day 0, today I was again feeling brain dead and I was emotional sensitive which made me grave in and my subcounses mind didn't like listening to it and I noticed after a while it didn't help me, this was bad,

yo I don't know which mode I shall go, I see this as the hardest challenge ever, the hard mode and I like it, but right now I am in some pain and music helps me make them emotions busy

  12. If it's too hard for you maybe you should switch to easier mode. But you need to push yourself, this needs to be hard.

Today is my day 5, feeling great!

  13. great explanation.
i listen to music too but imo it is not as great a thing as people make it out to be. and listening to music while exercising or doing something else stops a person from being mindful of what he is doing.

  16. there has been some research linking music to depression though at this point they are not clear wether music causes depression or people with depression are more likely to binge on music.
i feel that both the assertions are true - excessive consumption of music can lead to depression ( through the same mechanism as porn ) and if a person is depressed they are more likely to binge on music ( for the dopamine hits ) and it can become a bad cycle.
having said that, i think playing a musical instrument is not as bad as listening to an endless playlist of every kind of music available on earth.
i think playing an instrument can be compared to sex while the music in your ipad or smartphone is much like masturbating to porn.
but its best to avoid both while rebooting.

  17. Oh you are Krewella fan, now i understand why you trying to stop.

  18. I totally agree with you. Now when I think about it, my music addiction started approximately in the same time when I became depressive. I looked at music as escape from my cruel reality, and it helped me to imagine my ideal life, but it never helped me to do something to achieve it. Since I'm on this challenge, I'm feeling so much better!

Well I can't consider myself as a real Krewella fan, my music taste isn't specified. I like few of their songs(my favorites are Human and Enjoy the Ride), but it's not like I'm fanboying anybody. I listen to variety of music(classic, pop, techno, trap, rock, rap, even some metal). But I had strong desire to listen to their new song because I was craving some music, and the notification popped up...

Btw I'm on day 1 again... Yesterday somebody on this community posted la ink to a song that he called "official NoFap song". I thought it's for real and I really couldn't resist to check it out. It turned out that it was "The Champion", and I really liked it. When I realized that I failed the challenge, I decided to continue listening to music through whole day. I noticed how I enjoy it more than before, I missed my songs so much! Anyways, this is my fresh new start, I'm ready to break some records! :)

  19. This method can be applied on anything, even on your beloved football. Music gives us positive energy.
