I started masturbating when I was 11. I liked to look at page 3 girls and then when we got the internet I would masturbate every day. I would say that I have been masturbating every day or every other day for 20 years. I am heavily addicted to softcore (English glamour models, hot european chicks etc) with an occasional venture into boy/girl. I am also addicted to the internet and spend around 10 hours a day on the laptop.

I have no job and no friends (I have two degrees though). I have social anxiety and depression. I feel kind of "brain dead" and it is very hard to describe. I feel like a zombie. I actually masturbated twice this morning - both times to softcore pictures of some hot young English glamour models.

A while back I looked on Facebook at the profiles of the page 3 girls I used to masturbate to (and still do). A lot of them now have children and a family. Meanwhile I am around their age and my life has not changed since I was 16. It is scary and also humiliating.

Once I see pictures of these girls (even non-nude) I just can't help myself. I have a couple of favourites who I must have masturbated to 1000s of times. Yes its sad. They are just too hot and I can't contain myself.

I rarely meet women in real life so I have no sexual outlet. I run a lot and sometimes I run past a hot girl, but there are no hot girls at my running club.

Sometimes after spending all day on the computer my eye sockets hurt a lot. I just browse aimlessley or play the same games over and over again. I gave up job hunting as I don't know what I want to do and I kept getting rejected. My confidence is low and anxiety is high... I get extremely nervous at interviews or even talking over the phone.

Maybe I am crazy. All I know is I think with my penis 99% of the time. My life has really not changed much since I was 16... back in 2004 now.

Sounds a lot like me except I am about 53.

At least you are running regularly. That should help with the social anxiety and depression (I have those problems too).

Maybe try volunteering somewhere? That might be a good way to be around people.

It was good times around 2004. Firstly, your brain is not "dead". You are thinking like that because you are constantly get a dopamine high, which is most motivational thing ever. As addicts, many of us here fall into this trap, too. Do you read about porn addiction? Do you have curiosity enough to understand science behind it? https://www.yourbrainonporn.com is a great website to getting knowledge about pornography addiction AKA porn induced dopamine addiction. Read everything, include success stories and articles. Maybe you feel like after some kind of euphoric feeling after using internet porn. You feel like you're trapped. Like life is changing and you are not. This is OK, you are not alone, I experienced these things for many years. I grew up with internet porn and in my early years I found teen porn also I found myself at a point I became older and still jerking of the pictures or movies and what is this? I had passed actors and actress I jerked of. Images never grow old, while we are jerking off to pictures, the world is turning. And pornography changes our perspective look at to the world. I have been trying to quit porn nearly 6 years, seriously and I figured out if I don't quit right now, I continue to use again.

Cut off your all communication between you and porn. Porn is not porn you are watching on tube sites, porn is facebook photos, instagram models, tumblr girls, erotic literature, sexual thoughts in your head, oogling, thinking about porn any kind of artificial sexual stimuli. If it help you, quit masturbation. Even masturbation without porn did not work for me. It is 100% a brain issue. It is above the belt. Do you know the term "neuroplasticity"? It says your brain is plastic and it is changeable, just thinking positive and exercising. Norman Doidge has a great book about it. Check out! https://www.amazon.com/Brain-That-Changes-Itself-Frontiers/dp/0143113100

I know you will do it. Every moment is a new moment free from porn every day is a new day. Have a good journey!

  4. Hey @english_problems, good too see you on here. It's fantastic that you've identified your problems and are now realising the cause (PMO). Now it's time to start fighting the addiction. I'd recommend reading 'Your Brain on Porn' by Gary Wilson and posting on here daily to report your progress and read success and failure stories.

In terms of your career, sounds like you're a smart guy who needs to build his confidence. Have you thought about doing volunteer work too get yourself back out there?

This is a double whammy. unfulfilling life and porn addiction. It is likely that your internet and porn addiction is really a result of your lifestyle.

Job hunting is extremely difficult in this day and age. I was the best possible candidate I could have been when I applied for jobs last autumn. A* in economics A-level, economics degree from a good uni, a year in a government department, you name it. It still took me 15 long arduous applications to get a job. 2 assessment centres in Westminster, one in the early hours of the morning over 2 months before I finally secured a career. but it is worth it.

same thing with nofap. it wont be easy, but it is worth it. you have nothing to lose, so why give up?

you need to get a job. that's the main important thing. even if its 'below your pay grade' it will give you some fulfilment and reduce boredom. after that you can attend to the nofap issue.

women are hypergamous. they sexually select based on what a man can bring to the table. if you have a 6 figure salary, a good car and a good house, it wont be hard for you to attract a girl, even if you're not trying to. if youre unemployed, it will be borderline impossible. that's why a job is necessary. A career, good sleep schedule, exercise and diet. they are the key. get them in order first before trying to do nofap.

  6. @bigboibez Why should he continue to suffer from the symptoms of PMO? Get started now, and work your way up with confidence, self improvement and your career.

Great that you have identified it. Maybe as part of your plan you could limit or remove computer access to remove temptation, particularly as FB, as long as work not affected. While it might sound scary it will really help benefit you in my opinion.

I dont mean continue to pmo, but dont put nofap as your highest priority. Put measures in place to stop relapse but dont beat yourself up if you relapse, just learn from it and improve. But lifestyle is the most important.

What im trying to say is if he sorts his life out first, nofap will be a lot easier. Trying to quit nofap without changing lifestyle will be borderline impossible by the sounds of it.
