Thanks for the input, that seems to be the consensus.
Hi sxowht, the group is currently full but you have been added to the waiting list.
Ok, thank you
@sjindjin - According to the rules of the group, your counter goal needs to be PM or PMO. If you want to remain in the member ranking, please consider changing it back to one of those. I will give you a couple of days to respond.
You have been added to the member ranking. Welcome to the group and good luck in your efforts!
Thanks! Looks like I conveniently/unfortunately got to join the group on day 0...not bad timing for inserting a little more accountability in my life!
I agree with you, as you said there's something there but you need to be vigilant and guidance.Aside from Canabis i don't have much experience with psychedelics, i only tried LSD twice. One of those time during my trip and out of nowhere i felt having strong urges to quit smoking (talking about regular cigaretes and i am a smoker for more than 20 years). Those feelings lasted for 2 months.I never quieted though, actually i like smoking so it may be funnyu but during thios time i tried to ignore those thoughts, lol.
I am very sceptical about mashrooms because i think the trip is too much for me.I always want to have some sense of control so maybe i could give it a try if only i feel the enviroment is safe enough and i trust the people around me.Do you think you had any other benefits or short/long term effects after your experience?
Checking in. Trying to get in the mindset to get a good streak going again.
You can do it dude, you've got this.
I just wanted to add that I remember not too long ago, you reached 30 days or more, try and replicate what you were doing back then mate. That's what's working for me at the moment.
Checking in today. Low level urges but I'm on top of it and staying mindful. Got a ski in this morning which definitely helped!
Hi everyone, just checking in after sometime away from screen time with my family. Time to grow and bond, I think that helps a lot on this process of being and staying free, since we know that freedom could be easily stolen from us if we don't take care of it.
Still on track and I'm determined to stay that way.
Good to be back!
Checking in....I have got to about 24 days of no PMO and was planning for 90 days...the first 20 days I didn't touch myself hardly at all and there were few if any urges...but then around 3 days ago I just found myself touching myself more and edging more! I think this has to do with a build up of sexual energy right? How do you deal with this? It was so easy before not to edge but then it became impossible...like an energy is drawing my hand to my dick and I couldn't stop. So in the end last night I did have to O to release it but still no P or urges for P so I'm happy with that and will continue
Good stuff. I have a thing I do which works well on better days (when I'm more motivated) where I will divide my tasks into physically passive v. active. For example, I will spend time doing work on the computer, and then get up and do bathroom stuff, sit and read, clean/organize, etc. Each step is a break from the other. Doing household chores is a break from sitting and concentrating; the passive work a break from running around.
Etsy. I want to say that I am shocked but I can't. This stuff really hits us from all directions. Some time ago I went into a real backwards slide from reading a CNN article. The article was very anti-porn, and was targeting various porn sites. One site in particular I had not known about. So what did I do.. of course I went to that site... And then another time I read another article RIGHT HERE on Nofap, an official NF article, not one that a random member happened to post, which was clearly meant to show us how bad porn was, that triggered me because they mentioned an aspect of porn addiction that I had never heard of and of course I had to go find out what that is. Avoidance is definitely a big part of recovery, but just as much attention needs to be given to resilience to tackle the stuff that slips through the cracks, because something WILL slip through the cracks no matter how hard you try to prevent it.
Well who am I to comment being that I turned off my counter and all, but I'm gonna go against the grain here and say to go ahead and allow no P only on the leaderboard. As we are all aware, we are not in competition with anyone else, only ourselves. I would recommend listing the individual goal next to the member's name (ex. artifact PM) so that everyone can see where they really stand against everyone else. So for those who are more competitive, for example someone who is currently #6 on the board with a goal of PM can check the top five, see that #s 2 and 4 are P only, and then tell themselves that as far as PM goes they are really #4, and so on.
Another idea is to start a poll at the top of the thread and let it run for a few weeks to get some more input. Hope that helps.
This exactly describes my last reset. It was as if it had come out of nowhere - I was totally unprepared and completely unable to deal with it. Not sure where I'm going with this... Yeah, +1 for Resilience!
Anyhoo, just checking in. Feels like plain sailing right now (famous last words!)
I like having consistent rules but it stinks losing longtime members who are still working, as long as the long term goal is to be PM free. When I was new I was like the dude who did a celebration dance at 42 days and walked off, but I'm seeing this as a long-term game now lol. (Btw if he comes back he'll get nothing but high fives. All of us have "permanently overcome" PM at least a couple of times lol).
Maybe just throw an asterisk by longtime members who want to try something else. Or make a second list. I'd only like to see this option extended to longtime members who still have a long-term goal to be PM free. For me that would never work, but as you battle sometimes you feel like you need to try something new.
Checking in. Trying to stay focused on why I want to do it - addiction free brain, more happiness, and more freedom.
PM is a lie. Real happiness is from doing things, mostly for others.
Trying to get the mindset right gents. That's what I'm thinking about. Greatfull to have another PM free day.
Hey discovery. Interesting ideas. Glad you made it back from Cambodia.
