OR A MUCH SIMPLER IDEA: Just fuckin ban people from being able to showcase themselves copulating on camera for billions to watch...? Your idea doesn't target the problem at its source and is, therefore, lackluster. :)
if this will happen then i would firstly take the opportunity of destroying the zuckerberg's empire due to it's increased promotion towards nudity. I just hate social media it destroyed me

So then when we got older, even as early as age 13-14, a lot of students starting drinking alcohol and smoking weed, and even doing some sexual stuff. Once high school started, even more students were drinking, smoking, and having sex.
Sometimes I think about if porn actually distanced me from underage drinking, smoking and having sex at that age. Porn contributed to me being less social and more of a loner as it made me more disinterested in real life relationships. I'll say that I substituted PMO addiction (and probably gaming addiction) with real sex, weed and alcohol at that age. But at what cost? That's the other question I ask myself. Anyways, that's true. Some kids are just way more rebellious and I can also see it backfire for some kids.

Yea, I feel like unless the kids have a deep internal belief to not watch porn, and if they are also taught meditation or prayer techniques, in combination with other self control techniques like beginner level fasting, taking good care of hygiene like brushing teeth and bathing, and other strong self-control techniques…

Otherwise, I don’t think it will work because the sexual desire will overwhelm them, because it is such a strong instinct it is very hard to resist.

Even kids who grow up in a religious household, and truly believe porn is bad, STILL end up with PMO addiction. So just mentally believing it is bad isn’t even enough, children must also be taught HOW to resist the sexual urges, through things like intense meditation practices, reading their own thoughts, and also controlling how/what they eat

Unless a child is born with some really smart/good/enlightened parents, then it will be very hard to succeed in not at least temporarily getting hooked on pornography

We were taught about that to some extent. I remember them telling us about masturbation and the subtopic of frequency. The message was there is no normal amount but masturbating to the exclusion of other previously enjoyable activities or responsibilities indicated you might do it too much.
They did not mention porn but obviously compulsively using porn will trigger the "I masturbate too much" and at least get you thinking.

I'm going to be the odd man out here, but I disagree with teaching th graders about porn addiction, and here's why: You can't talk to a ten year old child about porn addiction without discussing porn itself. I feel like talking to ten year old kids about porn is going to make them want to see it, just to peak their curiosity, which will do immeasurable damage, whether they decide to continue to seek out porn or not.

I'm certainly not bashing anyone who disagrees, it just sounds like a bad idea to me, personally.

You have raised an important issue. As SanctuaryWife mentioned, "Porn addiction is not recognized as an addiction by the mental health professional community at large." This is probably due to the limitation of science or other thing else. But to many people who have suffered from this curse, we all acknowledged how it could destroy our lives. It has to be a part of education, only a matter of time.

Every kid watches porn anyways by that age though. Unless parents prohibit their children from going on social media or YouTube. When did you start watching porn? I was 9. I'm sure you were around that age too, no? So since they're watching it already or know about it, they should know about the damage too.

I agree, but I don't think at 5th grade. Maybe 6th or the 7th grade. I got into porn when I was in 6th grade myself around 12 years old. But yes agree, kids need to be taught the dangers of addiction and the dangers need to be exaggerated so no one ever falls into the messes we have.

First off, my childhood was mostly great and I was pretty much always in a happy mood. Social anxiety was always present but despite that, I was pretty likable, funny and overall a cool kid. I think 1st or 2nd grade was when I first heard of the term "say no to drugs" and we learned that cigarettes and alcohol (along with other drugs) are addictive. Now, addiction may be a complicated topic, especially to a little kid so elementary schools made it simple by "just saying no to drugs" and not succumbing to the peer pressure, not trying to fit in, not trying to be or "look cool" etc. Still, I eventually got into a bit of a drinking problem a lot later in life at 23 years old. The D.A.R.E. campaign and "just say no" slogan isn't a rescue as some kids will still get into drugs despite of it but at least kids were aware of how addictive it can be/get.

5th grade is when I started learning about puberty in school--perfect time to bring up PMO addiction... but they never brought that topic up, although they should've in my opinion. Boys would be separated from the girls for about 2 weeks or so to learn about puberty and at the end, we would be put together in the same class for a more general coverage on puberty. 6th grade was when my relationship to porn became addictive because that was around the time I started PMOing to it often and PMO was the thing that became addictive to me. I eventually was no longer the likable kid I once was because I didn't handle puberty well or my boosted social anxiety and my relationship to porn. Puberty can hit kids hard especially in the acne department and I had pretty bad acne. So there wasn't that much I could've done about that. But my relationship with PMO, there's something that could've been done about that. In the 5th grade, if I would've received the same awareness of how addictive PMO could be the same way I received the awareness of how addictive cigarettes and alcohol can be, then I probably would've slowed my horses down on the PMO.

If elementary schools can cover topics on drug addiction, weapons, puberty, wet dreams etc. then sure enough, PMO addiction can also be talked about. I did have a sex ed class in 6th grade but by then I was pretty much hooked to PMO, and regardless, PMO was still not brought up in sex ed class either. The awareness of PMO addiction should be mentioned as early as 5th grade.

I 100% agree. Shortly after 5th grade me and my friends first viewed a video together. I didn’t think anything of until it returned to me freshman year of high school when I thought the same idea my friend had, I wish I never really viewed that video.

But the first video I saw I laughed and wasn’t turned on at all about it. My friends were making over expressions and astonished by how big everyone was.

I think it should be taught in 6th grade and Freshman year. The only thing we had was health class and it didn’t help our teacher was attractive including the last name that everyone thought was like a P star name. It was cringy..

Freshman year I was only taught about drugs and stds especially saw a video about kids taking ecstasy at a party. But nothing about Porn Addiction which at the time I was fairly new to it. Me and my friend were even talking about in class what we were looking at.

But yeah it needs to be taught at least warned about.
