By reading the title, you might think its weird that I chose 6 days rather than 7, 10 etc. The reason for that is because unfortunately I relapsed today, and to end the week strong I need to go 6 more days without relapsing.

I've noticed that this summer I have relapsed a lot, in the month of May, I went 30 days without fapping, and then I've been fapping 2-3 times a week ever since.

My summer break is almost over, and I really wanted to break the addiction this summer.

I've been observing my relapses, and have noted that I haven't been changing my approach. I always tell my self during each streak that, "I can't search up porn", however it still fails. The reason being, that the porn habit won't go away unless I replace it. I've known about this from the power of habit, however I've always struggled to implement it for Porn Addiction.

For those wondering, Charles Duhigg author of The Power of Habit, refers to this as the Golden Rule of Habit Change.

He says(paraphrased) "To change a habit, you have to change the routine, while keeping the trigger and reward the same"

Now, with my experience, it is nearly impossible for me to get the reward I get from porn(less than 1 second of pleasure), from other activites. It's also really hard for me to do those activities when I get urges. However, I still understand that we need to work on different habits.

Now, with my whole NoFap journey(5 years), I have developed many habits along the way, but have not been able to break free.

So I am trying a new challenge, it's simply a challenge in which you abstain from PMO for 6 days, however you do something that helps you stay away, or replaces the routine of Porn, while also giving you a reward.

    For example
    - Day 1: Instead of watching porn, I will meditate for 20 minutes today.

My goal is to do these type of activities(Instead of watching porn, I will....) for the next 6 days, and hopefully I don't relapse.

My plan also, is to post about what I am doing for the day instead of porn, right in the morning so I stay focused.

With that being said, I invite everyone to take part in this challenge with me, as it will motivate me and hopefully motivate others as well.

And for optimistic sake, I would just like to say that from July 23rd-July 29th I will not watch any Porn, or masturbate.
