    I recently passed 60 days.

Lately I have had some fairly strong urges. These are different than what I experienced earlier in my reboot. Early on they were more physical urges. Now they seem more mental, like bargaining or convincing thoughts. Things like "I've made it this far so I must not have that much of a problem, why not use moderately" or "I've done well but I'm missing out on something I used to enjoy and should reward myself."

Early in my reboot the urges seemed easier to resist, like I could just put my foot down and say no. These recent ones seem more convincing and are taking me closer to relapse than anything previously.

Anyone else experience something like this? Advice for this stage of the journey?

    Thanks,
    Nom

Whoa!!! I am having these same exact urges and rationalizations. I am on day 71 today and the past few weeks have been horrible. I always resisted the urges early on in my reboot thinking it will get easier after 40, 50 or even 60 days but I was wrong. The fact that I have been trying for the last 6 years and this is my longest streak puts pressure on me as it tells me how strong this addiction is in my life.

Anyways, let me tell you have it has gotten easier now. The brain fog is what causes these kinds of fallacious thinking, so don't fall for them. Give yourself a few days and it will get easier. Try to stay motivated everyday: workout, meditation, running etc offers some great help. Follow the goals you have for everyday. Be extra careful while using internet. Don't click on anything or search anything suspicious. I made that mistake few days back and my next 2 days were hell. Hang in there; these periods of sufferings are temporary.

    Good luck!

I feel you guys, the urges got so much harder to resist each time I hit 60 days! Actually, this is the first time I get past 65, because they got the best of me otherwise.
What helped me best is journaling on the forum. Maybe not the writing itself, but the fact that if I relapse, I'll have to share it publicly, to the people that have supported me. I don't want do disappoint my fellow Fapstronauts, so I hold on, and with the right motivation, this is almost easy.
I also with @Awakening123, keep busy, keep being awesome, you'll never want to go back to the old times when you fapped your life away.

    Keep Strong :)

OK, I'm experiencing the same thing. Even though I am only on 22 days, I've had some extended streaks previously. What I'm finding now is the physiology is nothing like it used to be, and the addiction has lost its depth and come into the shallows of the mind. This kind of makes sense as no doubt it began here also... in the early days we had our scruples and often consciously wrestled with ourselves before capitulating.

I think this stage signifies our first steps back onto the solid ground of continence. The urge must now come, cap in hand, to the mind, and offer some damn good excuse for why we should indulge. Advice? It is much easier at this stage to hold at bay the urge [you are not physiologically compelled as before], and now you can balance two options in your mind; the present pleasure, or escape, you will feel on the one hand, and the future miserableness you will feel on the other. You can be a pure hedonist about it all, and still win out.

Also, I am finding I am now consciously taking pleasure in the simple things of life. So when the temptation comes, I can choose instead to watch a good old Western on Youtube.

  5. You have thees thoughts, and yet you still understand that its just your mind trying to trick you. Did you notice that? You did, because you were worried and posted here. Look just do what you're doing. I'm more than 100 days and even though it was quite easy and I have strong discipline, only now when I feel super great, I can tell you that it gets better and you become the boss of yourself and your mind.

Thanks for the advice, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who is or has gone through this phase. When I first started I was surprised to see people relapsing after two or three months or more. I thought it would be much easier by then. Now I see that while it is easier overall, in some ways it has also gotten more difficult and with some new, more subtle ways to trip up.
Keep up the good fight guys,
    Nom

It will get easier, trust me. Remind yourself that the pain is temporary and it's only there to strengthen you.

Thanks @Awakening123. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time and hope this phase passes soon.
