Day 3 out of 7

 

Hey guys, haven't been on in about a week, so I need to restart to day 1/7 today.

 

Starting Day 2. This is a lot easier than I thought it would be.

 

Day 1 complete .... Had some urges but the motivation was much bigger .
Heading for day 2 !!

Feeling quite better now. Had been very positive today.

 

Some people are afflicted more heavily with strong urges than you may be be. So much so, that they can barely get through one day without the weight of those urges seemingly crushing them. I suggest being respectful of others and keep yourself from declaring that it is just easy for you to do this challenge. To some this declaration may project a sense of arrogance.

 

That's good man. Just be careful of leaning too strongly on motivation only to get you through. Motivation is fleeting in its nature. You may and most likely will wake up one morning and find it missing. I have been down this path many times with motivation. It's very good for a strong start, but self-discipline is needed for the long run, as it can be molded into a firm foundation to stand upon when motivation begins to fade or is suddenly absent.

Day 3 of my journey to overcome my last success of 48 days of abstinence. I was a little over-confident at that point when I was around 48 days and felt I had risen up to a level that I had out-run the urges. I had not had much of any really strong urges for the few following weeks. Until an urge hit me like a freight train out of nowhere and would not stop slamming into me stacking on weight with every surge. That experience taught me that I must remain ever vigilant in this journey no matter the time stacked in my favor of having no urges. If you find yourself at that point of having a long success of having next to no urges for a few weeks, know, don't think, know that an attack is coming and the longer it has been staved off the more forceful it will be when it hits, be prepared and hold your ground.
