Five days down, two to go.

Day five experience saw my thoughts drift towards the old habit. Ended up going for a three hour long walk to get out of the house and away from the computer. Thoughts while walking were mostly about the old habit and things I want to try on future challenges. During this seven day challenge, I have taken up meditation for fifteen minutes every morning. Next challenge I may start reading a book a week or maybe go to the gym.

Checking in with day 0/7 of this challenge. This challenge will help to bring my overall streak to 2 weeks.

Well done! Imagine how gutted you’d feel if you’d stayed at home in front of the laptop for 3 hours!

Meditation is good. I’ve been doing it almost everyday for a year (only been NoFap’ing for a week) and it’s been good at calming the mind. I started using the Headspace app, but after a little break I tried again with the Calm app which seems to suit me much better, and I think for the price offers much more.

And definitely go hit the gym! I go 6 days a week and it’s an awesome way to let out some masculine aggression, which leaves you feeling so much calmer afterwards. 30 minutes of “killing” the punch bag and my mind is calm and clear. Pent up frustration is released. And you’ll be too knackered for any PMO :D

    Day 7 complete...
It's been Both blessing and a struggle. It's so hard to enjoy things like reading, work and social life with a desensitized brain.
    Moving on to next challange!!

Yo! I see you are doing good with nofap, I have a question to ask,
Can I start to do some heavy sports or go to the gym several hours right after relapse??
I feel like I have no energy right now but if I go to the gym probably it can increase my mood significantly
What's your opinion if I may ask?

Without knowing your current level of fitness it’s hard to say. If you’re a bit out of shape then hitting the gym hard for a couple hours for a day or two might initially feel great but you won’t be able to keep it up and then you’ll feel down about it (and probably quite sore!)

I’d start with 30-45 minutes 2-3 times a week, and build it up slowly. Most importantly learn to do the exercises properly. Poor form will lead to an injury and then you’ll hate it forever! Most gyms have introductory lessons and/or a PT to help you. And don’t worry about not being “macho” enough by not lifting big heavy weights. Good form always beats heavy weights. There’ll always be other guys (and sometimes girls!) lifting more than you. They all started at the bottom too. It’s only about improving yourself and it takes times. Even after 6 years at the gym there are loads of guys lifting more than me and I sometimes feel a bit feeble, but instead of fretting about it I just go and chat with them, ask them how long they’ve been working out, what they’re goals are? Turns out socialising is good for you too!

If the gym isn’t your thing then there’s loads of sports and activities to try. I’m also a very keen runner and usually bang out 6-10 miles a day. Sometimes fast on my own, or leisurely with my wife, or socially with my running club friends. Each offers different benefits: alone time to reflect and recharge, time to reconnect with my wife, or catch up with friends socially.

The other thing I’ve done recently was become a Committee Member for my running club. I can be a bit useless socially so this really took me out of my comfort zone and forced me meet and work with new people: men and women. It’s all good stuff. Getting out and about. Being with people. Connecting. Realising there are better and more meaningful things to do than hide away fapping. It’s challenging and uncomfortable but extremely rewarding.

Sorry, long post and I went off on a bit of a tangent. Just suddenly had a lot to say!
