I second that! Glad to be here with you guys!
Day 11/90- no PM
Day 7/90- no alcohol.
My sex drive is out of control but it is giving me a lot of energy and had great sex last night with the wife. Feeling more confident every day. Thanks!
8/90. I'm glad it's a long weekend
Doing great! This weekend I worked on systems to capture, organize, and schedule all of the various responsibilities I have in my life. It can be rather complicated to integrate everything in your life into one system, especially when you consider all the different areas of responsibilities (work, home, property management, personal health, relationships, etc.). Despite the complicated effort, let me just say IT WAS WORTH IT. It's so helpful to have a plan that takes care of all your responsibilities! Getting all those thoughts out of your head and into your schedule really helps reduce the daily stress of life. This is invaluable to anyone trying to quit porn, as stress can easily be a trigger to find escape. From my online research on how to do this, I found 3 basic elements of a productivity/task management system:
The capture - You need inboxes that are quickly accessible where you can write down ANY thought, idea, or task you need to record. If you're like me, stuff comes into your head at all random times and from soooo many different sources (email, texts, coworkers, your spouse, your on brain having ideas, problems or issues you notice with your house or car). It quickly becomes impossible to stay present with the moment you're in when you have so many thoughts in your head, especially if those thoughts are related to responsibilities which have the potential to cause stress. Gotta have somewhere to write it all down in an organized way so that you can attend to it later at an appropriate time. This step was challenging and took a lot of careful thought.
The weekly plan - Schedule a regular time for yourself EVERY week where you examine everything you've captured (thoughts, ideas, tasks to complete) and decide on what you want/need to get done this week and even make a rough schedule of when you'll complete each task. Remember to always break tasks or projects down into simple and manageable chunks.
The daily plan - Each morning, review your tasks for the day, make any adjustments you need and set a concrete schedule for yourself. Remember to provide yourself with amble breaktime so you don't wear out too quickly.
I could go into a bunch more detail, but at some point you have to figure out for yourself what works. Each person is a little different. I'm finding this to be a HUGE stress reliever and productivity booster. I hope these ideas are useful to someone here!
Day 12 Checking-in
07/90. First week has passed. Feels great.
Last night I spent the night with a woman that I've been seeing for a while. I had told her earlier about the porn and what I'm doing about it. I also told her it would probably take a while for me to be ready for intercourse. Even without the earlier porn use if I like someone then it takes a while before I reach sufficient comfort level to engage in intercourse. Anyway we got physically intimate with no intercourse or orgasm on my part . I enjoyed it and so did she. Thankfully because of my years in12 step recovery my ego has shrunk enough where I was able to be honest with her. It sure takes the pressure off.
Another day . One day at a time.
Hope everyone is having an Amazing day and a great 3 day Memorial Day weekend!!
Checking in on day 7/90. 1 week down, 11 more to go. No urges or pulls today. It’s been raining here all day. I still did my 20 minute run this morning. Downloaded the RunKeeper app to track my runs. Finished 2 miles in just over 16 minutes..
I owe you guys an apology. I shared my YouTube channel on here, inviting anyone who was interested to check it out. I’m questioning my motives, thinking it may be selfish of me to promote my channel here. Who knows though, it could help someone and inspire others to start their own channel.
Truly appreciate all of you! Keep up the good work! Don’t PMO and keep your hands off your junk lol
Yes sir! Way to go man! I know there may be times when you think to yourself “what the heck is the point of this?” Or “This is all futile... maybe I’ll just go on there one more time.”
Let me encourage you.. There is a point!! Think of the person you are becoming and helping others to become by becoming that person. I know, it sounds a bit out there, but the bottom line is tell those thoughts NO, NO, and NO again. Shout if you have to. Sprint out of the house and go for a walk or into the shower and flip the cold water nozzle on like your life depends it. It does...
There’s no going back. We’re leaving PMO behind for good!
You got this! We’re here for you.
That’s awesome!! Keep rocking it brother
Checking in on day 40/90
Great progress! Stay with it. I love that you are abstaining from alcohol as well! I used to use it as a crutch to help me be more social when I would go to bars. I decided to give it up as well. H2O is my go to beverage.
Glad to hear you’re doing well
Alright let's do it, 4 days to 90 days, try out my best to build discipline
Good morning all. Day 5 completed. Feeling good. Stay busy guys so that you won't have time to PMO.
