This is your 90 day commitment, you determine what the rules are. But if it happened to me, if I knew I hadn't brought it about by fantasizing or touching myself, I would just clean it up and forget about it. It was just a body function that happened outside your control, like breathing.

Day 1 of 90. It's only been a day of tracking my progress but yesterday was a good day despite some stressful life happenings. I've had more success over my struggle with porn addiction in the past few years than I've had my entire life. This has been mostly due to self discipline and a stronger spiritual connection but recently I've started to see old habits. Things I previously wouldn't have allowed myself to do or look at I've started to allow again and old cracks that were healing have started to become fissures again. In my experience, transparency has been key to having lasting change and freedom so I'm here to share my struggle. I appreciate everyone sharing the steps in their journey and for giving me the opportunity to have a voice and to be seen by others. There is no better cure for shame so I am very appreciative.

Starting day 37 of 90. Commitment is going well. Some days I feel horny and have urges to do something about it, but it goes away after a bit. It is a lot easier to get through than when I first started. My life seems to be getting better overall, which I've been told happens when people are recovering from addiction.

Thank you for resetting and getting on with it. Recovering from addiction is humbling... and not for the weak of heart.

I'm inspired by how you thought this through, communicated with your wife and got her support for the new challenge. It reminds me that people are capable of excellence.

Okay, so I deleted one of my recent posts after leaving it for about 6 hours because of two reasons; 1) I thought none of you were interested in it and 2)because of no interest in it, I started to think that maybe it was over the top. However, some of you have been liking some of my much earlier posts possibly looking for it and because this really works for addictions or problems in your lives, that have really helped me this week getting rid of urges for P,and because I still read about urges prevailing in this thread, I will repost it.Enjoy this!

    Parts Integration Using NLP

The following are the steps you should follow in order to unite your conflicting parts under one common goal. The technique is taken from NLP and its called parts integration or visual squash. Make sure you read all steps before applying the technique.

Note that you aren’t going to resolve the inner conflict on the conscious level but instead you are going to do it on the unconscious level and that’s why the below steps may require some imagination.

Step One, Identify the parts: Hold both of your hands in front of you So that your palms face the ceiling. Look at the first hand and imagine that you are holding the first part on it and try to imagine the shape of the part. Some people see it as a glowing ball, some see it as one of their parents and others see different things so just visualize the shape that makes you most comfortable. Try to notice if the part has a weight or if It has a sound. Do the same for the second part. We are using symbols in here because your subconscious mind thinks using symbols.

Ask The first part about its Intention: look at the first part and ask it "why do you want to eat that chocolate?" the answer will be something like "Because I want you to enjoy the taste of chocolate" ask it again, "why do you want me to enjoy the taste?" the answer will be something like "because I want you to be happy". As you saw you should ask more questions until you determine the highest positive intention of the part

Ask the Second part about its intention go to the second part and do the same. Your main goal is allowing the two parts to agree on a common goal which was happiness in this case. The more you go up in the hierarchy of intentions the more will you find that parts are agreeing together

Talk to both parts and tell them that they both have the same intention and that there is no need for a conflict. If you were doing it right from the beginning you will notice that your hands are coming closer and closer until they touch. If your hands touched each other then hold them together firmly and this will send a clear message to your subconscious mind that the conflict was resolved. As a result the next time you won’t find that big resistance when you try to stop eating chocolate.

So apply this process to find a common goal for both parts for whatever problem or addiction you have.Hope this helped.
