90 days and how I changed

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Deleted Account, Apr 22, 2016.

  1. So I've gone 90 days without porn and masturbation. I would've done hardmode, but few weeks earlier I visited my long distance gf so we had sex (which was uncomparable to any previous sex that I had).

I'm 24 y.o. and been masturbating for a very long time, I don't know how old I was, but I discovered it between 10-12 y.o for sure. Imagination at first then when we got super slow internet - pictures were the stimulus. Later the videos. Then hardcore videos. I was masturbating couple of times a day, and sometimes just couple times a week. And yet it was enough to damage myself to the point where I had the common symptoms of low self esteem, avoiding social interactions, being passive, lazy, unmotivated etc.

I've tried nofap last year around the same time. Did 30 days, then got back to my habbits for a year without even thinking of nofap. Until this year end of january.

The main thing tat really changed about me isn't the superpowers that everyone's telling about (and the ones that I felt last year when trying nofap), but I really got into habbit of not wanting to check porn when I'm bored or feeling low. I do want sex and physical interactions with girls, but I can not see myself masturbating or watching porn at all. It seems foreign, something like I don;t want to smoke cigaretes, or use heroin. I know how damaging it is and being responsible person I don't ever want to get back to that destructive bullcrap.

This is just the main and biggest change there were small changes like, hugely motivated to start on my own projects for future carrer ( as I want to be carpenter and I'm doing and learning right now). Startet regularly exercising, and I noticed huge strenght and muscle gains in a short period of time. Cold showers also. Haven't had a warm or hot shower since the beggining of the year. I kind of miss it, but I embrace it as I realise thats how our ancestors were taking showers and weren't complaining.

I realised how our society is based on comfort, and getting things asap, and what negative effect that has on us. I am a simple animal not so much different than any others, and I have been allowing myself to be deceived by other people into thinking that destructive habbits are OK.

I learned that I am just a small part of the world and whatever bad or good happens isn't such a big deal and the only thing that I will regret in future are the ones that I have never tried.

I learned that I can to feel confident all you need is to love yourself the way you are, and no apearance, wealth or anything other than self love will give you confidence. And I am really starting to accept myself for who I am. I talked with my friends about porn and masturbation, and the relief that I got from that can be compared to dropping a dirty and heavy stone of your chest.

I learned that 90 days is just first step and I intend to never going back to my humiliating habbits ever again. I know how hard it can be to quit but if I did it then I have the right to say to you that you can too quit this and start feeling like a human you were born to be.

Wonderful! I had not breached the 90 day mark, yet but I'm steadily getting there. I've definitely feel better during nofap, placebo or not. If I say there are no urges, I'd be lying. Every day there are, some days stronger then others. The door leading to the abyss of pleasure, pleasure which drowns you and numbs your perception of reality is always open. But once you start your journey, with every step you take you get further from the abyss. It gets fainter and fainter in the distance and like you said, you don't feel it is a part of you anymore. In reality the opportunity lies there every moment. With one huge step back you can fall back. "Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles." Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, for principles and our character keep us going forward on the journey do they not?

PMO = "....an abyss of pleasure".

I love that - so true.

Can you tell us what super powers you are talking about?

  6. I'm glad that you guys can grab even the slightest insight, or get even a grain of inspiration from this. Stories like that helped me and that is why I wanted to share it with you. I took inspiration and now im trying to give it back

I can't distinguish any superpowers besides what normal people should feel like a healthy confidence, disregard of other's opinions, motivation, energy. But these aren't superpowers these traits are what we should have felt all those years spent watching porn.

I've watched a video of porn actors talking about something (it was definitelly not sexual content) and they said they don't watch porn. Even the people who create that don't watch it. That says something about it

Hey man I know its been a long time since this post, I'm 17 years old and am trying to quit PMOing , currently on day 12. I have a girlfriend I really care about and I attempted sex and had trouble staying hard while putting the condom on. Shes since gone away for 2 weeks and is coming back in a few days. Shes just went on her period so that kinda buys me another week. Do you think 3 weeks is enough to maintain an errection longer and regain some sensation? I guess its a difficult question. I know this post is old, looking for any advice right now. Sorry if i included a bit too much information, Thanks in advance man.

  11. three weeks can be long enough to get some sort of sensitivity back, or be just long enough to get you into flatline. What i suggest is you open to your girlfirend about nofap, it will only do good, she will know what and why are you doing this, and that is a very powerful thing. You should feel very good about that and maybe even perfomr really good with her.
