90 days, finally!

I can't believe I could actually do it. After getting stuck at a one week cycle, I'm finally out of it. Here's a little background:

I'm a 28 year old male. I started masturbation and internet porn when I was around 13 or 14, at that time I didn't have a room for myself or privacy, so my masturbation rate was "low". My highschool and college years were the best for me. I was the guy who made everybody laugh, so people always wanted me around. I've always been lucky with women, with some insecurities (developed mainly by my porn usage) made me lose my virginity at the 25 y/o mark. And despite having a little DE, I enjoyed sex, and my sexual partners enjoyed it as well, mainly because I learned to have fun doing it. But all of that went down the toilet after one mean episode of depression. My old man got cancer, I lost my job, I didn't enjoy being with my girlfriend anymore. Long story short, I lost everything. My old man died, we started having money problems.

And I didn't notice at the time, but my PMO frecuency went up, from once a week to daily and also the time spent in front of the computer, so, as a result:

*I got Fat, but not evenly Fat, I just developed a huge belly, it looked sick, it's the only way to describe it
*Brain fog, just reading a book or playing a videogame was impossible for me
*I felt tired all the time, I couldn't even excercise because I got exhausted immediately and making my bed seemed like an impossibility
*Social skills GONE, nothing interesting to say, social anxiety, I felt that everyone looked at me and judged me
*Women attraction GONE, or at least that was what my brain told me, suddenly women started looking at me with disgust or just plainly ignoring me(this one un particular brought me down, after a life being lucky with the opposite sex, it felt like all my charm was GONE)
*I starting slacking at work, my classes became boring and tedious

So, as you can see from a decent adjusted man I became the lowest version of myself, it was like taking reverse steroids.

And then one day I was looking at some Art of Manliness posts, and one that caught my attention was "Are you addicted to porn?". At first I thought it was some kind of joke or some dumb religious propaganda, how something so natural as masturbation and porn could possibly harm you? Right?

After reading the whole article, the page led to the NoFap Subreddit and everything became clear. All the symptoms. Sometimes reading other people's stories felt like reading my own life. So it was decided, and I started my NoFap journey.

The first 15 days were easy as fuck, and I thought I had it under control, after that I was resetting every week, and it seemed impossible to overcome this horrible addiction. But then I found what is currently working for me:

*Stop looking at Porn: NO SHIT SHERLOCK! This one is the most important, not looking at porn, not even a peek, the very moment you start with the first picture/video everything goes downhill, avoid it at any cost
*Not using Porn blockers: also important, I don't want to use my computer and phone with fear, the best porn blocker is yourself, just say NO to your penis, if the temptation is too high turn off the device off and run! (Not a joke)
*A job or going to school is mandatory, it'll be almost impossible to do it if you're around your house doing nothing (happened to me when I was off work on the December holidays)
*The moment you feel the energy flowing through your body, start excercising, I started doing HIIT and now I'm with calisthenics. You'll burn all the energy left in you and you won't have any left to be interested in porn.
*Get distracted: read, watch movies, play games, write, anything that'll keep you away from porn.
*Eat healthier and drink a lot of water: just because
*Have ice packs ready in the fridge: for emergencies, it really works!

Some things that I've tried but need improvement:
*Meditation: I just can't get into it
*Social interaction: People disgust me
*More hobbies
*A better job

So the things that have changed are:

* Lost fat and gained muscle
*Barely get brain fog
*A lot more energy than before. I still get periods when I feel tired but nothing compared to some months ago
*Social skills improved. I'm not terrified to go out anymore, my conversations are interesting, I'm the funniest guy to be around again, when I'm with my friends I feel like the alpha male.
*Women attraction back?. Yes, thats a question. Sometimes I feel that I've always had it but my brain sometimes make feel otherwise. When I was at my worst in PMO, some girls told me that they wanted to be with me, or that their friends wanted to go out with me. Also, some days I feel like women ignore me completely, and other days I feel like they just can't get their eyes off me. At the end of the day I guess its an improvement
*Not slacking at work
*My voice's always been deep, but now it sounds like Batman's voice modifier, I love it. Girls turn around when they hear me talk
*Hair everywhere. My beard is growing like crazy, I've got an epic mostache. I'm getting genetically bald, but for some reason the hair on my head is looking better, specially after getting a haircut a couple of days ago. More hairs in the eyebrow area, I'm loving that
*More muscle development: Yup
*More aggresive in a good way: less afraid to approach people or speak my mind

So yeah, last three months have been interesting, I still have a long way ahead of me, but at least now I know that it's possible. If you're reading this I hope it motivates you. Also I apologize for any mistakes but my phone's keyboard is set in Spanish, its very hard to write in another language

TL;DR I stopped touching my wee-wee, everything looks better now

Thanks brother! It's funny, but before discovering NoFap I thought that I had diabetes or cancer, I'm not even kidding, I got checked a lot of times and the doctors told me "you're fine". I wish I had found about this earlier!

I'm glad you find my post helpful! You're right, the brain is always trying to trick us. Even today, my brain is like "whoa, 90 days! I bet we're cured, so why not go ahead and watch some porn, is not going to do any harm". Scumbag brain!

 

Right? Hahaha yes, the doctors and nurses faces all like: this guy again, really? Now we know what the problem is!
