What form of meditation are you gentlemen referring to? I'm doing pretty good right now at the beginning of nofap (day 7) but I would like an alternative such as meditation to attempt.
I practice a form of mindfulness meditation. You sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and watch your breath. Breathe normally, but keep your attention focused on your breath. If thoughts pop in, let them pass like clouds in the sky. It takes practice, but it is very helpful and relaxing. Always return to your breath, if thoughts pop in. Best of luck!

Essentially, yes. The breath is the only focus. And yes, again. When the thoughts arise, notice them but don't follow them (think about them). When you notice them, return your focus to your breathing.
How often or how long per session should I consider doing this?
I suggest daily for the best results. Start low and slow. Maybe 10-15 minutes at a time? I worked my way up to 30 minutes, which seems perfect for me.

We have an heat-wave here and didn't sleep well especially last night, lay 2,5 hours awake. So then the whispers to masturbate became very strong. But now I am glad I resisted.
