Hi everyone , i am very happy that in internet there has such type of good community . I am very excited and happy .

I am a 24 years old boy . I have been watching porn since 2008 almost 12 years . I am unmarried . I had always a bad concept that "Hence i am unmarried , Porn+masturbation is a replacement of sex and after getting married i will totally abandon it" . But my thought was wrong , nothing can replace sex , sex would make peace in your body and mind both , on the contrary masturbation and porn make your mind and body uncomfotable , unstable simultaneously .

My thought about "after getting married , i will totally abandon it" also wrong , because i saw many married man and woman also watch porn and Masturbate . So it is obvious that it is an illness of human mind .

I feel depressed and anxious after watching porn . Last time i tried nofap , but it only last 2 month 20 days , then i lost motivation to keep continue it . So i am planning to start it over .

I am very happy to tell you that i am on my 13th days of nofap journey . Wish me goodluck .

[ sorry for my bad english ]

Hi Peaceisalwayspeace, welcome here, and wishing you loads of strength and good luck on your journey to quit porn. If you managed 2 months and 20 days in the past, I am sure you can do so again, and hopefully break with porn for good.

2 month and 20 days is a fine achievement, more than most guys could manage, so be proud of yourself, don't knock it!

About the motivation thing; What was it that you hoped to gain from NoFap? For example, you could set a goal to do more sports or spend more time socialising, or maybe try and organise a date with someone each month?
When you spend less time in front of the computer and less time masturbating, you have more free time on your hands and more energy to do stuff.
I feel it is always easier to keep up the motivation when you have some clear goals about what you want to do/achieve in your spare time, otherwise its just too easy to stay at home get tempted to masturbate again (well it is for me!).
My personal goals are to spend less time in bed, spend more time socialising and hopefully improve my energy levels and hair growth! :)
Did you have any goals you'd like to share?

Thanks for your reply . Yes , i did that . The 2 month 20 days journey wasn't easy . I slept at 10:30 pm and wake up at 6:00 am then 200 rope jumping , kegel exercise , meditation all those combination keep my dopamine level at great peak . I am a programmer , so most of the time i have to spend in front of computer . That is the reason i was so addicted , so i changed my life style : Work life balance is the formula . I keep work on my computer but always balance it, i spend ample of time with my family . I am somewhat introvert , so i have no friends and i don't feel comfortable to express myself . But i found my own way of solution: i go outside for jogging and earphone with awesome music , spend time with family , again back to computer but always balance .

Thats great. I think many of us spend a lot of time sat at a computer nowadays, more so than any other time in history so the ease of access to adult material makes PMO all the more tempting.
Spending more time outside/excerising/socialising is definitely a good strategy and of course it much easier to quite an unhealthy habit if we can replace it with new habits that bring us enjoyment and is also good for us. It sounds like you have that all sorted out.

  8. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profilesection..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal. Make sure and be grateful for the help you received and help after receiving some. Invest in some people's journeys. We could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
