Hi all. I’m Ben, and I’m super happy I found this website.

I’ve been addicted to pornography for about 20 years now (I’m 38) and have used it, pretty consistently, over those years.

I’m same sex attracted, but have never had a full on relationship with a guy (not one that lasted more than 6 months anyway). I’ve had many hundreds of sexual partners in the past, but have recently decided to turn to abstinence. This decision has mostly come from a recent religious calling, but I have also recently worked as a sexual health professional, and have seen the damage that promiscuity does to many people like myself. I believe that my sexual compulsions have massively damaged my physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and I have seen the very same in many other people that I have worked with.

I had tried to refrain from masturbation within my new celibate way of life, but found it so hard to tear myself away from PMO.

But then I found this site, and I’m hoping that the forums, conversations, challenges etc will all help to keep me happily from acting out.

It’s been just over 90 days since I had any sex (major breakthrough), and hope that I will soon be able to say the same for PMO!

I’d be really happy to hear from others in similar situations, or if anyone has advice or tips to help out.

    Thank you!

  6. Hi @justben
Glad you are here. And very welcome to join us in our journey to a healthy, fulfilling life without any self harming habits.

It's a safe place here. We all are in the same boat, so there is no single space for judgement here.
Maybe it's a good idea to keep a journal. Sharing your struggles, thoughts and feelings may help you to understand the underlying issues.

It doesn't matter what your past was look like. Everything is possible, especially if you are a believer in God.
I left same sex attraction, a crossdress fetish, masturbation addiction etc behind me.
The same is possible for you sir.

Click above on "forum usage guide" and start reading. Clicking around the forum you will met tons of good articles and journals.

Keep coming back and get the most effort out of nofap!
You don't need to do it alone!

I wish you lots of luck!

Welcome! I'm pretty new too, but I wish you the best of luck. I've encountered nothing but support so far, this seems like a great community. I too have wrestled with same-sex urges, along with heterosexual ones, but have put that behind me. I don't judge anyone based on their sexual preferences, but I know that for me - personally - it wasn't right. It was based purely on sexual appetites, and not any pure thoughts or love. I hope you find everything you're looking for, and reach out if you ever want to talk. I will be praying for you!
