    Hi everyone,

My name is David. I'm 19 and I've been unsuccessfully trying to overcome (no pun intended) my porn addiction for almost two years. Like most of you, I was exposed to pornography at an early age. It has been such a constant in my life that I don't even know exactly when I started, but I think I was 13. I never got into any super deviant content. The worst it got was lesbian bondage porn. And at the worst stage of my addiction, I watched once a day. Over the last two years, I've seriously tried to quit porn three times. Each time I failed. The longest I've went was about one month. But even then, it wasn't totally PMO free (there was edging).

I'm a very religious person. And at first, that was the only reason I was fighting against my porn addiction; because I knew it was a sin. For religious people caught up in a porn addiction, it can feel like you're living a lie. It's horrible. In the last year or two, I've been learning about the scientific evidence about how porn affects our brains. Recently, I discovered "Fight the New Drug," YBOP, and YouTubers like Noah B.E. Church, and Gabe Deem. So although religion is a large motivation for me, it definitely isn't the only one. Religious or not, porn is extremely unhealthy to individuals and relationships. I'm a virgin, so I really don't know if I have PIED. But if I don't already have it, I don't want to get it later on. Someday I want a wife and a family. If I continue watching porn, these goals (and others) could never be a reality. Porn is corrosive to happy relationships, healthy sexuality, families, and long-term happiness in general.

For these reasons, I'm giving it another try. As I write this, I'm working on day 12 of my new PMO free life. I'm really excited to be joining this community. Let's kick porn's ass together!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

    How are you progressing today?

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?
