A truth NoFap keeps avoiding

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jan 30, 2019.

  1. I've been having this problem on my hard mode journey, and while looking for info I've seen that lots of guys had it too, and even though they came here asking for advice, their threads never get more than 3 answers, and it never cast any light on it. It's like fapstronauts don't even want to hear about anything bad related to NoFap.
    The problem is this:
"Whenever I go a few days/weeks or a month without PMO I sometimes experience a burning sensation in my urethra as well as a feeling of having to urinate even though I don't really need to. Typically it starts off abruptly, I go to urinate and when my stream starts it's met with a shooting type of pain, then when I finish urinating the burning sensation in the urethra kicks in along with the feeling of having to urinate again. The strange thing is, I notice this only occurs when I'm PMO free. When I relapse and am regularly masturbating again it doesn't happen, almost as if ejaculating keeps it at bay or something. I've been to the doctors for general checkups and when I have the urinalysis I haven't had any kind of infection."
So reading into it, I found out it's probably non-bacterial prostatis, the cause of which is unknown. And I found this study that proved that masturbating regularly helped out people having this issue. Which is something the guy from the quoted comment and me can relate to.
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/10226823/
"RESULTS: Clinical and laboratory re-evaluation could be performed in 28 patients. Of 18 patients who adhered to the recommendations, two (11%) experienced complete relief of symptoms, whereas six (33%) had marked improvement, six had moderate improvement and four (22%) did not benefit. In contrast, three of seven patients who masturbated less frequently reported partial improvement. Three patients who did not ejaculate other than during wet dreams had a worse prognosis.

CONCLUSIONS: Young men who are single and suffering from NBP must be informed about their illness in detail and, if they are not doing so, they should be encouraged to ejaculate regularly, for example by masturbation in the absence of a sexual relationship with a partner. We believe that normal sexual activity decreases the incidence of NBP in some cases."
When I masturbated after 31 days, it burned at first, but helped with the problem later, then I did it again after 5 days, and it burned again, but it helped even more, and I've done it again after a day, and it didn't almost burn and I'm feeling okay. Btw, I'm not craving M or anything, it's just that I'm worried as fuck about this, so I'm trying to recover from it by any means, and MO works, so that's what I'm doing. I quited porn, and now a new journey begins, the journey towards finding the healthiest frequency of MO for me (doing so without porn or fantasies, and with a gentle grip, to avoid death grip)
So, take it from me, if you are having this problem: MO is the solution.

Well, I'm a total newbie here, just joined yesterday, but it sounds like you needed a solution for your issues and you're working on it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your solution, but again.. I'm a newbie here just going based on what you explained.

Find the frequency that is healthiest for you physically, and attempt to determine the mental and physical implications of it.

I haven't read anything yet but isn't somewhat regular MO recommended by doctors to help prevent prostate cancer or is that a myth?

This addiction is more serious and detrimental to most than an increased likelihood of an unlikely infection. Even if all that you say is true, to most of us here, the path of a porn-free existence is the right way to go. Interesting though.

  4. It's not an infection, I'd bet is inflammation due to semen retention. In any case, I'm not advicing people to keep watching porn, all I'm saying is that NoFap can be bad for some of us, and if you find yourself having prostate problems during NoFap, then I advice to move into Mindful Masturbation. This is regarded as healthy masturbation on yourbrainonporn.com, which is like the Mecca for porn addicts who want to quit. They also link a post that advices to masturbate while looking at a vagina pic (just one, not multiple), not even fantasyzing about doing anything to it other than normal penetration. There is a dangerous escalating possibility, so I don't think porn addicts should do it. But I see where they come from, if you can stay put on that, you won't desensitize yourself, that's for sure, it's just a vagina, the real thing is going to be even better than just looking at the pic.
In any case, we are all here trying to improve ourselves and trying to find our way in life, so each of us should find their own way. I just share my reality for consideration.
