About me

Mindy

Fapstronaut
someone on the app Lyf recommended this site to me. I have struggled with masturbation since I was 16. I am now 24. I am a Christian woman with a deep faith in god and my desire to get clean and not masturbate stems a lot from my faith. I am ready for healing. I don't like the guilt and shame associated with masturbation that I feel. It truly does not make me feel good about myself or my life.

I think a lot of my problems come from curiosity and a desire to fulfill my sexual needs. I am a virgin and am waiting until marriage to have sex or anything of its nature. I also use masturbation to cope. It doesn't matter if I am feeling a negative emotion like loneliness, or a positive emotion like self confidence. If any of my emotions get out of balanced, then I am triggered to act out.

My goals are to progress and kick this addiction. I'd like to learn healthier ways to cope with emotions like stress, boredom, loneliness, boredom, etc and also learn to rely on God for the healing and ultimate escape from my addiction. I know I can't do this without support and help from others.

Here goes nothing!

Welcome to the forum. Addiction happens to both men and women yet very few women look for help and find the community. Thank you for sharing your story.

Be sure to follow all the links and watch the videos in the New User link. You can start a journal in the 'Women in Reboot' section. You can also request a Accountability Partner in that folder. You can also request that the partner be female if that makes you more comfortable. Continue to educate yourself about addiction at www.yourbrainonporn.com... the rebooting tab was very informative.

I hope you find the information, advice, and support you need to succeed.

You'll conquer your habits... Admit it..
Soon you'll have a new and better life all in your hands! Gud lck

A technique I like to use is deciphering love from lust. Every time I think about a women in a lustful way I think.. Could I possibly fall in love with that person? If not I quit my dirty thoughts. You may never find some one you truly love if you're more interested in lust.

Welcome to NoFap! :)

Some things that helped me when I first started were these:
  • Keeping my door open at all times
  • writing in a journal, reading other journals
  • Wearing a rubber band that I would snap when having a urge or sexual thought
  • Cold showers
  • Welcoming people to NoFap
  • Staying off social media websites
