I'm curious how many of you use an app or software to block pornography websites so you cannot view them even if you get the urge to.

I sure do. It's helped a lot. But isn't a cure all. K9 by blue coat services I think on my computer. And incoquito for my android.

Curious when you say "Isn't a cure all" Do you mean you find or are able to find other ways to access?

Yeah exactly, I finally got the computer to a point where I couldn't bypass it. But P is everywhere if you look hard enough. I've had it for probably 6 months but as you can see I'm still struggling. Itnis definitely a deterrent though. And would recommend it if you need help to keep yourself in check.

I bought SaferSurfer, wrote down my key (10+ characters) entered it twice, started the VPN and threw the fuckin' number away. Sayonara, porno! (I hope!)

I guess I'm wondering about the "everywhere". What else should be blocked/avoided?

Can you explain more how to do this?

  8. I used K9, and lost the passwords on purpose. It has worked well.
A few other things: I don't use a smart phone or any 'modern' phone. I have a cheapskate flip-phone that only deals in calls and texts. No internet. I tell people that it 'declutters' my life - which it true. Also - the PC is not in a hidden alcove, attic, bunker, or shed. It is not locked away. It in in a main room, where people to and fro. I also have an ad-blocker to prevent 'sex sells' advertising sending me triggers.
On that note - I also avoid TV like Game of Thrones [it's crap anyway] and invest the time learning skills [languages, music, art]. I also read a lot about anything - mostly factual stuff, and classic [modern or ancient] literature from around the world. In the PMO days, I would waste so much time - now I use it well. A lot of TV is quasi-P filler and uses sex to make up for uninteresting story-lines that drag on.
I was given an iPad as a gift. It is sealed in a padded envelope in storage. I'm sure there were 'K9' style blockers for it, but didn't know how to install them. Besides, it is something I do not need in my daily life.

So: K9, with lost passwords' and scale down/remove tech from your life. Also stop watching the TV and get a life :)

Social media for the most part. Also YouTube and sites like it.

No Tumblr, Twitter, or Reddit. Filters placed on YouTube app.
Not sure how to manage Facebook/Instagram.

Hi Johns80. I used to have various blockers on the computers but always found ways around them. However, blocking by our internet service provider does the trick as what ever I use will get blocked. There are ways around everything in life unfortantely. The are only two ways I avoid porn - remove the router completely or have my computer passworded.

Try K9 as its free. Nothing to lose.

Go to your app store (I use android). Look for safe surfer, it's like $2 per month or something, very cheap. Upon downloading, you'll have to enter a very long code. I wrote a random code down, entered it twice, then tore it up and threw it away. My phone is on lockdown for awhile.
