Day 816

Had a good day yesterday and kept on building on my habits. Nothing much to share.

Workout: day 711
Didn't do a workout yesterday.

Walking: day 719
Took a 44 min walk in the afternoon and a 48 min walk in the evening.

Screentime: day 719
Total screentime on my smartphone yesterday was 4:00 from which 2:23 hours on Whatsapp (apping/calling with my girl) and 0:54 hours on the Internet (responded on NoFap).

Lying: day 10
My girl said that I was a bit absent. I explained that the heat was making me crazy. It wasn't that hot, but it was stuffy outside.

Meditation: day 816
Meditated for 45 minutes.

Language learning: day 378
I spoke 7 compound sentences in Turkish and some book study accordingly.

PMO study: day 816
Read in NVC that it is not always possible to speak and receive empathically. We are sometimes in too much pain to receive someone else empathically and need a bit of space or a bit of recognition before we can start thinking in an NVC.

Sleep: day 674
Slept around 11:00 PM. I'm less tired than yesterday.

Healthy eating: day 674
Ate a sandwich for breakfast and lunch. I still had some lebanese shawarma and put it on a wrap. It was delicious.

Cold showers: day 713
I had two cold showers
Daaaamn, you're still killing it after years in the game. Language learning if fucking dopeeee!!! (I'm learning Japanese now).

Day 8

Finally passed the 1 week mark. The book I read about quitting smoking fixed my mindset a little. Been having incredible pain and nausea for a good two weeks straight now. I called some therapists to get some emergency treatment. Chiropractor, manual therapist and osteopath. Got needle treatment and a massage today. Helped a bit on the pain but didnt cure the nausea. I hit the gym and read a chapter in "technical analysis of the financial markets". I finished an audio book about building a business and I have listened to a book about body language. I expect to finish that one today too. Yesterday I read a bit in "mastering Bitcoin". I like to nibble a little at multiple books at once but in total I read a lot and finish up books left and right. Besides reading and working out, I struggle to catch momentum. Every day is a struggle in pain management.

Day [143]

What happened today?

  • I woke up at 12:30 pm and went to the gym and did some Back & shoulder workout
  • I went to the pool right after to do some functional workout
  • I hit the ice bath for 5 minutes and went home
  • I read 12 pages of “ The champion’s mind”
  • I walked for 45 minutes outdoor at night
  • I meal prepped my food for the week
Mental wins:

  • I became more into prioritizing myself and my overall health
What I need to fix or improve:

  • My screen time needs to be controlled
  • I need to manage my time better to be more productive

Sounds like work is also a big stress factor for you. Are you enjoying what you do?

I can imagine that the insomnia may make you feel hopeless at times, but you sound very stoic about it in your posts. I guess that people can even get used to something like insomnia, if it is frequent enough.

I'll soon finish writing the text for the answer/reply

Hello
Good evening, have you talked to your doctor and had a blood test to check for magnesium mineral salt s? Like magnesium malate of course vitamins and minerals, can help reduce pain and improve balance.
Some take around 3 months to feel the real effect.
Talk to your doctor and nutritionist after tests.
Of course, this is just a suggestion.

Makes me think of pre flight instructions where they tell one to put their own mask on first...

Congratulations on getting through a week given all the pain your fighting through. shows a lot of perseverance

I am on slide of two days of MO (and racy pictures/YT videos which lets face it almost (if not truly) constitutes pornography even if there is no depictions but I think that If I can get a goods night sleep and shift back into my routine then I can pull out of this without necessarily binging.
I got a few tests done for my health but there were no conclusive results so I'm back to the drawing board on this and will continue to implement sleep schedule, healthy eating, journaling, No PMO, studying, and networking/socializing. I really need the later right now because I'm having issues with my family that is leaving me feeling more disconnected and discouraged then usual and I think being in positive company could help. Am thinking to go volunteer. will also start looking for a different job that is not as physically taxing...

Day 1:

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... It's been like two hours since I posted here. It`s good to be back.

Reboot stuff:
Morning recovery routine.
Deploy IMP's tools if a First Thought Wrong pop-up (Act in 5s or relapse.)
Go for a walk and Call AP if necessary.
Notes on why I relapsed/slipped (if it happens).
Wake up at the right time (or I'm gay... 4:40 am).
Go to bed at the right time. (10 pm)
Work from the Library/Open Office if I feel like I'll relapse.

End of the day:
Did I relapse or slip?
Good to see you back! It's been awhile

Daaaamn, you're still killing it after years in the game. Language learning if fucking dopeeee!!! (I'm learning Japanese now).
It's one day at a time and I do admit that a big number looks attractive. This in the end isn't really much more than a collection of days. I try to get more and more learnings put of my day and I think I'm succeeding in this as well. Thanks for the kind words.

How can one give empathy if they don't have it?

Sounds like good learnings. Keep on keeping up. No shame in tripping. Remember that you are capable of having a solid streak. It's baby steps forwards

Day 817

Kept building on my routines. I had quite a busy day which already started at 7:30, when I brought my girl to physiotherapy. After my girl was done, I brought her home and went back into the city. My girl has her birthday soon and I was looking for some nice gifts. She is very curious and always asks a million questions about her birthday gifts. So this time I didn't tell her anything.

On a different note, we had some struggle yesterday. She had planned her birthday party on Sunday. This would mean that my parents and I would celebrate her birthday Sunday, spend time together and go out for dinner. My mom and I got an appointment on Sunday and I tried to coax my girlfriend into having her birthday party on Saturday. It all went sideways, because my girl felt forced and not appreciated. When looking back, I already felt forced about bringing up the conversation because I was already thinking that altering the date would be a major hassle. I also think that my way of bringing it made it worse.

Workout: day 712
Didn't do a workout yesterday.

Walking: day 720
Took a 46 min walk in the afternoon and a 44 min walk in the evening.

Screentime: day 720
Total screentime on my smartphone yesterday was 3:40 from which 2:21 hours on Whatsapp (apping/calling with my girl) and 0:44 hours on the Internet (responded on NoFap).

Lying: day 11
Already stated my struggles in the introduction paragraph.

Meditation: day 817
Meditated for 40 minutes.

Language learning: day 379
I spoke 7 compound sentences in Turkish and some book study accordingly.

PMO study: day 817
Read in NVC about how I can receive someone's words more empathically. It is said that we all have needs that we want to have met. Instead of thinking that I want to check a box by listening to my girl's needs, I want to know what she is truly feeling and experiencing. This makes empathy a lot easier.

Sleep: day 675
Slept around 11:00 PM. I'm less tired than yesterday, but still tired again.

Healthy eating: day 675
Ate a sandwich for breakfast and lunch. I had leftover macaroni for dinner.

Cold showers: day 714
I had two cold showers

Day [144]

What happened today?

  • I woke up at 11:00 am
  • I had some oats , 4 eggs an a cold brew before hitting the gym
  • I went to the gym and did a functional workout for 3 hours
  • I went back home, made a banana smoothie to drink while reading “ The champion’s mind”
  • 3 hours later i went to a basketball court and i played pickup games for almost 2 hours straight (it was fun)
  • I got home and watched the movie “Sinners” with my family
Mental wins:

  • I became more into prioritizing myself and my overall health
What I need to fix or improve:

  • My screen time needs to be controlled
  • I need to manage my time better to be more productive

Day 818

Kept building on my routines. It was hot and I have no interest in dying yet so I made some exceptions on my existing routines that made it more bearable.

Workout: day 713
Didn't do a workout yesterday. Did do 20 pre-shower push-ups in the morning and 5 pre-shower push-ups in the afternoon

Walking: day 721
Did a short walk yesterday evening. It was still 30 degrees at 11 PM in Western Europe.

Screentime: day 721
Total screentime on my smartphone yesterday was 2:34 from which 0:58 hours on Whatsapp (apping/calling with my girl) and 0:43 hours on the Internet (responded on NoFap, ordering food online).

Lying: day 12
My girl and I still spoke about the hassle of two days ago. My girl said that I hadn't reflected on my actions yet.

Meditation: day 818
Meditated for 15 minutes.

Language learning: day 380
I spoke 7 compound sentences in Turkish and some book study accordingly.

PMO study: day 818
Read in NVC about empathy as the connecting force between two people. Showing empathy is often described in couples’ counseling books as a much needed skill. I now see that empathy in NVC is very much in line with the empathy that all the counseling books speak of.

Sleep: day 676
Slept around midnight. It was hot and stuffy on my bedroom, which made it difficult to sleep. Slept through my alarm clock

Healthy eating: day 676
Ate a sandwich for breakfast and lunch. We had pizza for dinner.
