I was in a 41 days hardmode-streak. I relapsed today. Didn't look at porn that much but rather got triggered by some stuff and acted upon it. I didn't look at anything nor fantasize about anything, I just wanted to "relieve the pressure".

I want to get back on track. I know the key to this is patience, but I wanted to ask you some advice to recover my dopamine levels back to normal. I considered removing all dopamine sources from my day-to-day life, so no sugar, no overeating, no videogames, no music, etc. I also read somewhere that intermittent fasting (24 hours a week) helped.

Has any of you got experience with this? Does fasting help, or will it just push me over the edge?
Thanks a lot for your answers :)

    Hi

My personal point of view , i think fasting is not ultimate solution to recover your dopamine lrvrls , also our brain needs some dopamine in our daily life , fasting help to purify the body and put your body in rest mod , but i don't advice you this idea ( you are free to choose ) , that's depend on your conditions
The most commun thing i know for this situation is to practise some sport, as you can see that , in situation when someone who was in coma or person recover after an accident they need to practise to recover , is just my point of view and this depend from situation to others

    Good luck

I wonder this too, I've been thinking of doing the same thing (removing all dopamine sources) but I'm not entirely sure if this is actually necessary or as helpful as we may think it is...

I'm also really interested to see if someone who has done monk mode felt any significant changes in this regard.

Like Lion188 said, instead of removing sources we could also try adding activities to our routine that require actual brain/body power, so something that requires effort.

    Any dopamine experts out here?
