I'm also on the boat of doubt. I might donate if I wasn't unsure if this is a money grab or genuine lawsuit. Also what's unclear to me is that it says 'HE had to file a lawsuit'? Uhm.. is this not a defense case then for him..? This just adds to the confusion. There is little to no detail upfront, wheras the donate button is.

 

When you are slandered and libelled of all sorts of things and harassed by people, you have to take action to protect yourself and your reputation, do you not? In a civilized society that means taking legal action against your bullies. That means being the plaintiff.

That’s fine also. If it’s a marketing tool for NoFap and getting the word out somehow. Then how would this be a bad thing. Think about it. Especially living in western culture of propaganda is highly influencing future generations. He’s helping tons of women and men out there with addictions. There are many reasons to fight the porn industry. If he’s going offensive then we will have to see what happens. All we can do is support Alex on NoFap or not donate at all.

I know a lot of people on here are skeptical about this issue. But the main problem here is our PMO addiction.

 

I personally don’t think about the money. It’s the idea. It’s bringing people together to share their experiences and helping each other out on NoFap. Feel free to do whatever but the people who donated are showing their gratitude and found a community that they can relate too.

doesn't like no nut november as there was an 18% decline in that month and they want people "wanking" as they put it and I don't trust them, Alexander has some shit to deal with for sure, we should put in our support so he can just hand it over to the lawyers. I donated $100 for this cause and I am glad I did it. The concept of porn addiction is real and this forum helps people dealing with it. I dont care how the money is utilized, all it matters is the forum is doing a world of good for a lot of people and those working behind the scenes in nofap deserves all the credit.

 

Maybe he's making money, maybe not. If he does, then be it. It still is a great website and a maybe product that provides a true solution and a real added value service to so many people who need just that. Why would it be a problem that he makes money?

What about McDonalds, Coca Cola or Disney? They make money too. They sell junk food, sugar-water or brainwashing movies that do no good to the costumer, and everybody is fine with that. So why is it a problem that a useful product is "for profit"?

 

In this I agree, Alexander could have done better in how he communicated his reasons for why he is going to court.

There are times when someone may have no reasonable course of action to take except for either retreat or offence. In the situation here retreat would be shutting NoFap down because the vitriol from his opponents is too much for him to bear to keep things going as they are. So then the only answer he has available to keep NoFap going while maintaining quality of life is to go on the offensive.

That is why he is using the language "forced" because the move he is making here is not one he is making freely. If he had another option he would take it, but his opponents have put him in this position where his options are limited.

Yeah, he could have explained this reality he is in better. No doubt. I'm able to tell you all this because I know what is going on. If you didn't have my perspective, it's totally possible for you to come to the conclusion you did based on the way things have been presented.

But cut him some slack, online communication isn't easy. It's not like he is a marketing specialist or has any training in making sure his message is clear and understandable. It would be great if he had someone who could lend him a hand with that, but, this is kind of why this lawsuit exists. He has been trying to gain ground and make things better for NoFap, but his efforts have been thwarted by his opponents.

The problem you point to is, in a way, evidence of what he is trying to get out from under of.

 

I think that's because the other end has a site saying porn is good for you, and that goes against NoFap, check that link. I think that site is bullshit anyway. Thats the only reason I can think of for not giving us the details which is all on that link I provided. All he had to do was post that link. Doing my research shows NoFap are not getting sued, its the other way around, but I don't think that's the case, that would be really dirty to make up something like that and I don't believe they did because we could find out. If you wanna know what's going on you have to read that link I posted and please do let us know. I can see they're giving Alexander a hard time, that free porn site likely is the one behind all this and i'm sure you'll find they actually are getting sued, I just couldn't find it myself.

 

I don't like how it's going and most people here seem to be supporting him.
I mean, he's the one who has filed a lawsuit just due to a doctor claiming fapping is normal and they didn't anywhere mentioned him or anything related to nofap.

First, if you sue someone and win the case. You are going to be one getting money so that makes this rather pointless.
Second, it has nothing to do with him. He's just making a mockery out of it. I have seen tons of article claiming fapping is normal and healthy. What about those?

Some people might find it offensive, but to me he seems to be looking to make some easy money.
