Hey guys ! I used to come here daily when I started this journey 46 days ago, but I don't anymore. Fighting my PMO addiction helped learning that I also had a computer/internet addictionso I avoid it now when it's not to work or chat with someone on facebook here and there.

I just wanted to tell you a bit about how I feel. You can check my journal here :
    http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?19611-ADC-s-Journal

And my first success stories (3 weeks) here :
    http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?20019-Hard-Mode-Three-weeks-of-no-PMO

And again this thread which is IMO the best I ever read :
    http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/index.php?topic=15558.0

So. I abstain from watching P, Ming/edging (but I had two wet dreams so two O, on Night 22 and Night 38). How does it feel to be 50 days-free from PMO ?
Feels good man. I used to suffer from social anxiety for example. I'm not going to lie, I still do, but way less than before, really. I improved everything I used to do : studies, friendships, ... And I spend absolutely NO time doing the usual "going to facebook every 2 minutes because I have nothing to do at home" anymore. I usually have something to do, and when I don't, I just read. It's that simple.

Anyway I see a lot of success stories that go like "Omg guys it's been 13 days without PMO and I feel like a new man, every girls I meet want to hang out with me, no-PMO changed my life !!!!".
And I think it's not really useful for the forum and the members.
Because you'll start to think like this :
"So, I suffer from social anxiety, I loose my hair, I'm skinny, I can't sleep and focus anymore, and I almost die when I practice sport for one minute... Well no-PMO will probably change that !". And then you go for two weeks, feel like some things improved, but only a few things, and you start to feel depressed and eventually relapse. I think it's what happen in a lot of cases. :(

Just look at everything I improved on Day 21 in my success story : from good sleeping habits to morning woods. Then read this : "please note that half those things are probably not related to the NoFap thing but probably my lifestyle improvements. "

Then read it again and again. During those 46 days I went through a lot of emotions, lost half my hearing, felt like god then felt like shit, had morning woods and then no morning woods anymore, then felt like god again, and felt like shit again, and got morning woods back...

I'm proud that I made it to 46 days for my first try, and it shows that anybody can do that. YOU CAN DO THAT. But just don't think that it will come in one day. I was close to relapsing several times, but I never relapsed.

And again, recovery is slow, but it's happenging ! I'll come back maybe in one or two months and of course for 100day. See you later ! I'll also come back tonight and tomorrow to check if someone has a question here.

    Thanks guys !

Yeah this site and all the other ones (yourbrainonporn etc) are really useful but coming here too much is a mistake I think. Not only because it made me think a bit too much about my Nofap challenge, and also because I used to be kinda addicted to internet and computer...

Good post man, thanks for sharing and congrats! Looking forward to checking out the links when I have a bit more time.

Question - what's next after the 50 days? Do you feel that's sufficient for a true reset, i.e. it's no longer an issue, so no reason to keep track at this point? Just curious, as I hope to work up to something much more substantial than the current 10 day challenge I'm doing in the near future.

Thank you ! Well when I started I said that I would make it for 100 days, and then go forever... I quickly understood that this "small challenges" thing led a lot of people to relapse here. So I don't really have any goal - I just stopped PMO 51 days ago, forever. Watching P again is not even an option.

And I definitely feel that 50 days are not sufficient for a true reset in my case. If you look to my journal, you'll see who I used to be before stopping PMO. Suffered from severe social anxiety, coudln't get hard even while fapping (it was always semi-hard at best), was addicted to some weird stuff and some things that were so hardcore it might be illegal in a few years, and for almost a decade. You don't remove a decade of addiction in 50 days. However just like I said, rebooting is happening, and I've made enormous progresses with a lot of things. There's still a long way to go for me, but everytime I wake up, I'm one day closer to what I want. :)

    Hi ADC,

Thanks for sharing your story, it's inspiring. Could you give more details on how you dealt with your internet addiction? Right now I'm supposed to work on my computer so I can't get away from it, but all I am able to do is procrastinate. Do you have any advice to give on this?

    Thanks.

Hey ! Well I used to be addicted to internet and computer for a few years I guess. When I came home from school/university I'd go on facebook, do nothing, fap, go back to facebook, watch a movie with streaming, stop at half the movie because I'd be bored, go back to facebook, search for useless stuff on Google/YT, go back to facebook, fap again...

And in the end I'd spend a few hours a day on the computer doing NOTHING. I understood this addiction while doing the Nofap challenge, and I just decided that I'd never turn on my computer until I have something to do with it. Also to reduce this addiction to facebook (I was feeling like I was missing something everytime I wasn't on facebook, strange feeling) I just made two shortcuts to check my notifs and mails every morning when I have time, and every afternoon when coming home. If I don't have any notif/mail, I close facebook directly. If I have a notification, I check it, answer to mail, and then I close facebook too.

I know this website is kidna important today if you want to connect and be social and stuff but bein on it 24/7 is useless. Now I'm less addicted to it and don't feel like I need to check my fb every minute anymore. :)

Lot of insight in that post, I believe. I'll check out your journal when I have some time to sit and read it. Thanks again.

Never really thought of the effect of sitting by the computer even to read these posts....force your brain into a habit that you're trying to get it out of in the first place. Time to find something else to do!
