    Well, I guess I'd better introduce myself. I'm Harry, a 19 year old lad from England. Currently I'm studying Digital Film at university and have been intrigued by NoFap for a couple months or so now. I'm 5 foot 9, slightly on the chubby side, okay skin, chubby red cheeks and hipster glasses. As we speak, I've had no sexual contact with a girl, never had motivation for studying and work since the beginning of high school and had not too much self confidence for a couple years. I've watched porn pretty much everyday since about 12/13 years of age, often masturbating at least 3 times a day. Until now, I've never really realised why all of these negative things in my life were happening. I've been moaning about being a virgin for a few years now and thought of nothing but having sex either. I regularly asked friends what's wrong with me and every one of them say I'm not ugly, have a very good sense of humour and am a nice lad. This has left me confused as to what the problem is. It's only since discovering NoFap that I realised I may have a PMO addiction and that this is negatively affecting all aspects of my life. Masturbation was solely down to boredom and self pity because of the lack of female attention in my life. However, university has changed my perspective on masturbation entirely now.

    The first thing which made me think about it was a friend whom I met at university. After meeting him for the first time, it was obvious he had a presence and confidence to him. I met him with three other girls and all but one was far more interested in speaking to him rather than me. He spoke to many girls in the first few weeks and had sex regularly until finding a girl he is very fond of. This made me wonder why this was? After making very good friends with him, he told me the best thing he ever did was quit watching porn and masturbating. This intrigued me but didn't fully convince me to quit yet. Then randomly- about a month ago now- I discovered NoFap and their forums.

    I read through a few of the Success Stories and was immediately inspired to start this challenge. I managed a week the first time, another week the second and recently nearly 2 weeks until writing this journal today. During these periods (although I didn't last long enough to reap the benefits truly), I felt significantly more self confident and slowly but surely began to focus my sexual efforts and thoughts about real life women rather than the scripted, sensationalised porn I constantly watched. This journal is a way of me saying 'Fuck masturbation, I can do this and reap the immense benefits of NoFap'. Therefore I will be posting regular updates (mostly every couple of days) writing the effects this challenge is having on me. I've chosen not to set any specific goals however as I want to change my life as a whole and feel setting goals such as 30 days NoFap or 90 days NoFap puts me in the mindset that I only don't have to masturbate for that time period. Furthermore this journal marks the start of the rest of my life for me personally. I'm determined not to masturbate for as long as I write these entries.

    I'm excited to see how semen retention will have a positive impact on my life and am confident the effects will be hugely beneficial in my life. Although I'm confident this will change my life, I will be 100% honest and state whether or not it actually does. And bare in mind I am not doing this for the sole purpose of having more sex with women and to lose my virgnity, but rather to enhance all aspects of my life. Moreover as I've had no sexual experiences whilst constantly masturbating, I feel this is a welcomed new approach to the sex aspect of my life along with the studying and health aspects too. Any support and advice would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully this is the start of an exciting journey and I can inspire people to do NoFap too if it works for me. Thank you for reading, and let's get going now!

    Haz.

  2. Hey @HarryMcD ,

    Welcome to NoFap! You are in the right place.

    I'm just a regular member on here, so take what I say as my experience. I found that I needed to:

    1. Learn the NoFap program.

    2. Get involved with the community.

    The best resource I found was the “Getting Started with NoFap” guide. It is on the NoFap homepage and you can download it for free from this link https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/

    Then, watch this video:

    It is really good and explains so much about how the blasting of porn images into the brain in high definition on high speed internet while slamming porn sounds into the ears with headphones can literally change the way your brain demands sexual stimulation.

    The video explains it better than I can.

    Also, a great page is https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/ my experience is that by reading every link and watching every video, I learned so much.

    Then, I got involved with the community. I'm not anyone special on here, I don't have any magic powers. But, I can say hello to new members, post my journal entries, remember to “like” peoples posts, and offer my experience, strength and hope where appropriate.

    Looking forward to seeing you around on the forums,

    * L

    PS - Think of pmo like a wolf. Stay near the center of the group with the winners and the wolf has a more difficult time finding you. But, stray near the edges of the community and the wolf can pick you off.

  3. For me NoFap is 1/2 program & 1/2 fellowship.

    Click on these people and post a "hello" on their profiles.

    I've found that the bricks that hold this community together are cemented with the support of the members of the fellowship.

    @C. J.
    @hoping_cannon
    @DavidGibson
    @SteelshoT
    @Jewels
    @reystronaut
    @2525
    @weddingnails
    @PatrickR
    @Beamer

    Look at with whom they exchange messages and you will find more profiles.

    So, if you would have found more profiles yourself, why suggest these particular ones as a start? Those relationships started with just saying hello. So, my ESH is that saying hello has kept the fellowship alive for myself.

    Looking forward to your success and in seeing you say hello on these profiles,

    * L

  4. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

    I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

    Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

    There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

    This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

    PS - Starting a journal also helped me a great deal.

    The journals are listed by age groups on the forum start page. Most members run one journal only. That way both the member and others can go back and look at their journey at a later time.

    Hope to read your journal soon. Also, in your personal details you can put a link to your journal. Then, appears under your avatar.
