Antidepressants and Nofap

I came across this a long time ago and believe it to be true to this day. I'm not a doctor and this isn't medical advice.

I don't think they block the benefits and have definitely helped my husband NoFap. He has been on an SSRI a while now and after a couple of months his urges to M reduced a lot and now he really doesn't get any at all. PIV is still fine, he lasts a long time now which is better for us.

I have been on paroxetine since March 2020 [yes, my doctor put me on it at the start of Covid lockdown]. I found it excellent for abstaining from masturbation. I am in a long-term sexless marriage - sexless by definition - e.g. less than 10 times a year. One to four times a year my wife gets the urge out of the blue to have sex and things work well - firm erections and she gets well satisfied.

My doctor says that obsessive masturbation is very much a part of OCD type behaviour. It has certainly lost its appeal for me.
@Caged_bird My hubby started on an ssri during Covid for anxiety / stress but was generally a little anxious before this. I usually went with him to the doctor appointments and earlier this year they said that it should be fine to come off them. He did mention the effect that he thought they had had on him masturbating which they confirmed as very likely and a normal side effect. They actually listened to him and did talk about ssri's being used to treat compulsive behaviors, including masturbation, and basically said he could stay on them if he felt they were beneficial to him. He has stayed on them this year but is thinking of coming off them at the next appointment.

Thanks for the input.
My ssri definitely helped me in creating a 39 day streak I plan to take it for months or as long as doctor prescribes before tapering it off. I had some other medications as well but i stopped that.
I only take zoloft
It helps with all compulsions definitely from first hand experience

какие антидепрессанты люди? вы понимаете, вы себе хуже делаете, если вы думаете, что таблетки вас спасут, то мне вас жаль
