any of you suffer from ocd, an increase in thoughts, past actions, and send you into anxiety and panic, catastropizing everything, even though there is nothing real about it?

I suffer from anxiety disorder too. I take SSRI antidepressants about 2 months. It didn't cure my anxiety, It just made me think less about problems and stop catastrophising. But whenever I have to deal with stressful situation, I still got anxious, so it sucks. I think that my problem is dopamine releasing. I watched porn since 12 years old approximately, now I stopped. My dopamine receptors were really damaged, my will and energy went down. I used to drink alcohol but it didnt give me any pleasure just headache, the same with coffee. Now I abstain from all of these things + I meditate 40 minutes a day, which gives me quite relieve. I believe that I can reboot and make my life OK again.

  7. Aye, they didn't work for me at all and not only made me nauseous, but also stripped me of what little emotions I felt. Personally I'd rather deal with feeling my anxiety and problems instead of taking pills and losing myself.

    Ditto

I can't write properly with my right hand anymore because of that shit. I took those drugs about 1 year before they found out it has no further benefits than a placebo. It's more or less mental castration.

a pill does not work miracles, if one's brain does not decide to react, indeed ..
that day I took the pill I will never forget it.
as well as satisfaction when I threw the box away

I don't have examined ocd, but i do have unusually high anxiety and fear of social situations. First time reached a 40 day mark and all my anxiety went away. I didn't care about anything except family and freinds, I was as happy and as lively as i couldn't even have imagined. However the first 12 days of nofap are the hardest, and it's from day 16 that i get to notice a difference in my anxiety, slowly disappear.

  11. Please please read the book “DARE” by Barry McDonagh. Absolutely life changing for me as an ocd, anxiety sufferer. I couldn’t leave my house without having a safety net (small blue pilll) in my pocket for 8 years. I thank nofap 80% then this book the rest of the way. Yesterday I went 9 miles offshore fishing. Enough said

  12. Not to mention most folks don't need be on SSRI 's, but doctors and therapists hand them out like candy even for slight problems or discomforts. They should only really be used or tried in two types of scenarios, if a person has severe or chronic depressive/anxiety disorder that nothing else has helped with, and if a person has a chemical imbalance in the brain causing their depression or issue.

doctors are quick to give pills as if they were candy.
maybe in good faith, I don't know, but I have absurd ocds, I decided to react with my head.

    I'm practically a hypochondriac.
I read a thing, and I was afraid of having received a great wrong as a kid, the same one for which I thought about it months before and laughed at it and didn't give it any weight, as well as the fear of going crazy, or of having some mental illness .

I've had clinical anxiety ever since I quit pmo. It took me a long time to figure out it's actually post acute withdrawal syndrome. This involves food intolerances as well and eating the wrong things will send me into episodes of depression, anxiety and exhaustion.
I've been on and off of meds. Tbh I can't really function off them but like you say they will numb your emotions. I try to wait it out on nofap with the aid of a clean diet and things like tryptophan and oregano oil to get some strenght back, but it's a very long road. I can only hope I will feel like my old self again sooner or later. I have even had kidney stones after relapses and really am a total mess. I did have a chronic root canal infection of which I'm sure it contributed to or even caused the state I'm in, but giving up masturbation seems to have been too much for my system to cope. I more or less collapsed under all of that pressure.

The cbd oil really is interesting. I think the right herbs and especially diet can do wonders for anyone who has anxiety, but some can have the opposite effect. I've reacted badly to Ashwagandha. You really want to check out the ones that aid in detox. If the cbd is legal in Europe and helps cleaning up the system, I'd be interested.

PMO makes anxiety a lot worse, if not creating it at first point.
I am telling it from my own experience, after PMO my anxiety is very high, even seems like social phobia. It needs several weeks staying clean to reduce anxiety. I didnt relate my anxiety with PMO which was a huge mistake. Getting older I see it more clearly, how damaging porn and masturbation is for mental health.

If addiction is OCD then yes,
I have driving anxiety also, which is temporary and increase after relapse and decrease after some time of sobriety.

I have had various ocd, and various fixations, which are gradually disappearing, I am going to a psychotherapist, and in the meantime I have stopped masturbating.
