    All
i have been researching a little on this and i feel i might have some symptoms of Adult ADHD. I feel This might be contributing to my PMO as well.

Do you have any guidance on this?

I'm not trying to treat it myself. I just want to know if there is any useful links/videos that can give me some directional advise...

    Thanks

  2. It is my understanding that ADHD, at any age, is not truly a disease, rather a condition brought on by environmental factors which weaken the health, particularly affecting the nervous system. Most important among those factors would be toxins. Consider the following: lead, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, all of which are elemental toxins, as well as other potential environmental/chemical toxins or biotoxins as might be found in GMO foods, pesticides, herbicides (think glyphosate), food additives (e.g. MSG, artificial colors), mold spores, etc. Many of these are neurotoxins, meaning they affect the central nervous system and brain.

The best way to eliminate these toxins from the body is by chelation therapy. A good toxicologist should be able to identify the levels of various toxins in the body: for most toxins, a hair-mineral analysis (HMA), should provide a comprehensive report, but for mercury, a provocative urine test, where an I.V. is given about four hours before the sample is taken, will be more conclusive.

In some individuals, other factors unrelated to toxins may affect their ability to concentrate. These may include low levels of vitamins B1, B6, or B12; exposure to allergens; depleted levels of essential nutrients or electrolytes, e.g. zinc, magnesium, iron, essential fatty acids (EFAs), etc.; sleep deprivation; etc. A qualified physician who is alert to these possibilities should be able to assist with discovery, and then recommend a course by which to correct whatever is lacking. Unfortunately, many physicians have little to no education with respect to toxins. Look for a certified toxicologist.

If you would like to see a short (5 min.) video on how mercury, such as that which gets into the body via amalgam tooth fillings, affects brain cells, check this one out from the University of Calgary:

If you have "silver" (more mercury than silver) tooth fillings, you'll want to watch that.

    Hope this helps.

Makes sense I find their are a lot of people with disabilities in my town and let's just say a certain company is always pumping chemicals in the air.

But don't worry the government says it's fine surely they wouldn't lie to us right?

Attention deficit disorder. Means I have trouble concentrating on 1 task for a long period of time. I could take medication for it but I always hated medication even when I was a young kid.

I am hoping nofap with proper diet and yoga with meditation can help fix that.

  11. I've found that forcing myself to do manual tasks and tasks that make me take in information and find things has helped. I can't seem to take visual information in easily, which is a kind of attention deficit. Chaotic thoughts also used to be a big problem for me. Spending time in male company has helped too, as has setting up a more structured way of life. Habits can be a big help when you can't direct your conscious attention.

This and exactly this! I’ve had ADD for my whole life and what has helped me the most is having a job that requires me to be constantly moving and thinking. During my down time I like to work out and play an instrument. I think that with ADD or ADHD, you literally can’t have any slack time because that’s when you lose your focus. Also, you need to find things that interest you because people with ADD have a hard time focusing on topics outside their interests. That’s why we tend to struggle in school.

Mistersofty, Thanks for your candid comments.

i was never diagnosed all my life. there was something that hapepned when i was a little young around 7 , but they just ignored it. I have started reading up on it and most of the symptom that i'm seeing across the multiple websites i seem to have. Now all the struggles i have had over the years , it feels like , now i have an explanation. All the self esteem issues, poor grades, procrastination, the constant struggles, P/M issues ....
It's all falling in place now. I wish this was done years ago. Better late than never...
I have to think of the future now and how i can learn to live with this and beat this...
let me know if there is a book you can recommend for me..

  14. Yeah - if something captures our attention, we can do it for hours without even noticing!

This thread is solidifying in my mind that it's ADHD I've been struggling with, and it's been pure hell. You can't explain it to someone who doesn't have it; they just assume the problem is intellectual, that you're stupid and don't understand what the words they're using. What's actually going on is that you understand the words, but they singularly fail to apply to your own inner experience of life, and so they don't really make sense. It's an issue of the soul, not the mind.

I wonder if it isn't the death of the patriarchy and shared social values that's behind the bigger picture with ADHD. Same with autism. All these women talking at us since we were young instead of showing or making us understand things by doing. It's the force behind the genius of Wittgenstein and probably Nietzsche, as well as pop culture icons like Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, Lauryn Hill, RuPaul, etc.

Anyone else share the tendency to make sweeping, abstract generalizations not founded in fact? xD

Roady you should know that any medicine especially the ones for mental conditions have other side effects.

You live a life where you procrastinate everything until it's too late, you can't focus on a single task ever, you cannot pay attention when people speak, when you read something it doesn't register right away (you have to read and re-read), being always late, no sense of time, impulsiveness, .

All of this leads to poor performance/grades, low self esteem, social issues, marital problems.. list goes on...

Watch any video in you tube if you have the time to help u better understand...

  20. If you don’t have ADD/ADHD then you’ll never know what it’s like. It might be a label yes, but I assure you the condition itself is very real (it’s misdiagnosed as well which is also an issue but that’s a different topic). No matter what environment you’re in or what diet you have, will not cure it. You can lessen the symptoms but it’s always somewhat there. I’ve lived with it all my life (alot of adhders don’t talk about it since ‘normal’ or neurotypical people think we’re faking it or make excuses). No one is obligated to understand us but I just can’t let misinformation spread without having said something. Meds & exercise are the closest thing to a cure but I can’t function at an adequate level if I don’t do these two things consistently.
