Any recommendations for P blockers?

Hello everyone,

Please I need some recomendations of any P blockers for Android and/or Windows. I have relapsed two days in a row and I am kind of scared and discouraged, the blockers that I had that I thought were good are not as effective as I wish they were.
I have SafeSearch DNS but I can easily just eliminate it.

Thank you so much in advanced.

Hey rubi_one,
I use cold Turkey blocker, its very strong and "annoying". I have found ways around it in the past, but if you configure it correctly and use all your creativity to the fullest then its really good! Its not free but its just a one time payment and not a subscription or anything.

Have a good one.

Thank you! I will definitely look into it.

I uses Blocksite. Been pretty happy wth the app and browser extension(s).

You can use the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) on Windows if you have the Pro or Enterprise version. It allows you to set a whitelist of URLs.

Hello Charles, thank you for the advice.

Sadly I have tried this and I do not have any gpedit.msc access on my Windows.

But I really appreciate your help. Thank you for the reply!

Cold Turkey is useful, but it can be easily bypassed if you're tech-savvy enough.

You can use the Registry Editor (regedit) if you don’t have access to gpedit.msc.

Look, if you have a phone that let you block settings by a code then we are in the other side. Is simple, you set a dns directly on settings on your phone, then you set a password for entering settings, you write that password far way from home (write the code in a difficult place to reach like in an abandoned place).

After that, you cant disable the dns, is writing the code or resting you phone from factory.

Other think that I learned of blocking is, on windows on the localhost file, set the porn pages you want to block. If you want to go hardcore in your phone, do the same, look for the localhost file and set the porn pages you want to block (you need to root your phone).

But my best advice is: Stop the bullshit, no blockers are gonna help you block porn and they will decrease your internet reach or internet speed and probably you are gonna make your phone malfunction. No matter what you use, firewalls, dns, advanced settings, whatever, there is always a way to bypass it. You can even find porn on Wikipedia so imagine that.

I used to use blockers and advanced settings but at the end for me it was all bullshit and I realized the best way to block porn is just dont do it. Dont look for it. Block it directly on your mind. And that way you are gonna avoid a lot of headaches with settings and problems.

This is a truly good advice my friend. Thank you for taking the time to share it!

Android: Google family link parental controls, you can set it up on their web portal (https://familylink.google.com/). You can block apps and web browsers, set screen time limits, enable 18+ filtering for chrome, it's free

Windows: Use the family filter for Cleanbrowsing DNS (https://cleanbrowsing.org/filters) also free, use a standard user account instead of an admin account when you're doing daily tasks so you can't instantly change it back

Hardcore mode: Save your parental control password / admin password on https://lockbox.pluckeye.net with a delay so you have to wait before being able to make changes to any devices. I wouldn't label them explicitly though.

Note that blockers can help but they won't fix the problem. The blockers themselves can become kind of a game where you find a way around them and then patch the hole and then find a way around it and then patch the hole and then etc. over and over again. Instead of making progress with your addiction you learn to be a better hacker.

Thank you for the great help, my friend, and for taking the time to share such valuable information.

I also agree that this is making us better hackers hahaha. I’m learning more about software than ever before because of this.

Cheers brother, I wish you all the success and peace.
