Just because of this, doesn't give you the right to mock suicidal people..

Tell me do you also find people who are disabled weak? or people who are fighting cancer? How ignorant of you?

We are programmed to survive not matter what. If someone has sucidal thoughts, it's mostly because he got some mental issues and needs to see a doctor or get some kind of help. He is sick just like someone who has cancer and also need help. You don't let them down, mock them and make fun of their death?? Is this how you treat you sick ones?

There are some cases of people/soldiers who kill them themselves just before they die to avoid the pain. Even the death of these people must not be ridiculed. Honor the dead for you will also die one day and join them.

Mocking people isn't they way to show people/children that smoking/something is bad .... it's to educate them and inform them about the evils of smoking/something. Mocking is often used by very ignorant people, look at history and you will see.

His other videos in Japan are awful too. Being immature in a fun way is one thing, but being an amoral racist hipster is another. He has gained a lot of new subscribers since the 'suicide forest' video apparently, which is messed up.

  3. I saw online there was a petition with over 200k signatures to get Logan Paul’s channel removed. He’s now going to take a break from YouTube apparently

  5. very sad indeed. in 2013 in my ex gym people were talking with each other while now at my new gym people look at their phones or make a video while working out. very sad. sometimes i miss the old times when i was a kid and technology didn't really exist at this level. it is destroying real human interaction. it is like if you don't take a picture or record a video of something beautiful it didn't really happen

  6. I agree with you. I do believe having faith in God gives you hope when everything seems hopeless. I experienced myself

A piece from the article I quote at the beginning:
People often cite Japan's long tradition of "honourable suicide" as a reason for the high rate here.

They point to the Samurai practice of committing "seppuku" or to the young "kamikaze" pilots of 1945, to show there are distinct cultural reasons why Japanese are more likely to take their own lives.

To an extent Mr Nishida agrees.
"Japan has no history of Christianity," he says "so here suicide is not a sin. In fact, some look at it as a way of taking responsibility."

Ken Joseph from the Japan Helpline agrees. He says their experience over the last 40 years shows that elderly people who are in financial trouble may see suicide as a way out of their problems.

"The insurance system in Japan is very lax when it comes to paying out for suicide," he says.

"So when all else fails - some people feel - you can just kill yourself and the insurance will pay out.

"There is sometimes an intolerable pressure on the elderly that the most loving thing they can do is take their lives and thereby provide for their family."

Yes unfortunately suicide is a problem not just in Japan but all over the world but also, a least from this article, it is said that Japanese people conceive suicide in a different way as, for example Christians, view it. For my religion suicide is a big sin because my religion believes life is holy. God gave you life and only God can take it

Religion can help a lot. For example in 12 steps for any addiction (gambling, s, p, drugs, alcohol) it is stated as 2nd step:
"Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity"
without knowing that is exactly what i did. it was spontaneous for me to look for God. and God gave me hope and peace and gave me the strenght to hold onto that hig i felt i had from God and bear the pain i was feeling

  7. first day i moved into a flat i talked with one of my new flatmates. he had a very dark sense of humour and he said he was like that because his father committed suicide. i didn't know what to say. he then added his father left debts he had to pay. I felt from his words anger and trying to act he didn't care. but i think under that behaviour he suffered his father's death

  9. I saw some videos from Logan Paul on Vine that's it. I had no idea he was so popular with 15 million of subscribers on youtube. Yesterday I saw this video made from a Japanese guy especially from the minute 1:15 (I loved pokemon when i was a kid and going around using pokeball etc. is very direspectful)

How is fighting cancer and disabled people related to suicidal people in any way? You are talking about totally different examples and makes no sence. I wasnt talking about people who commits suicide because of pain or have mental issues. Cancer and disabled people are terrible accidents were people fight and continue with their life, how is this a weakness? Where suicide is a choice, you cant choose to not have cancer and you cant choose to not be disabled, but you can choose to not suicide, if you want to tell me that all suicides are mentally ill, then we have absolutely 2 different points of view on this term. I wont make fun of suicide, I also think its not good, but I will shame it, thats 2 different things.

Yep, I can relate to that, such impacts changes lives forever especially the part about anger is very true.

  12. Yeah, most people think they will live for 70 or 80 years but no one really knows the future. Our lives are like the morning fog, here a little while, then gone. My brother died when he was 19 years old, just because you're young doesn't mean you won't die soon, I guess you're just lucky if you don't. It's important to make the most of life while we can. That why I put that Russell Brand quote on my signature: with the limited time we have are we going to be beautiful? Are we going to do good? Or are we making the world a worse place? We can pretend it won't happen but death will happen to each of us. The question is what am I, what are we doing between then?

I agree. Ryan Bell who's now an atheist said life is more precious since becoming an atheist. He said when he was a Christian he didn't have so much value on life since he thought he would go to heaven, but since coming to the conclusion that there's nothing after death he treasures it even more. I know a number of Christians who've killed themselves and probably more would if there wasn't this Christian belief that people who commit suicide go to hell.

  13. Like, it's really hard for me to say. I hear of Christians being unhappy and the same for Atheists as well for whatever the reason, but what I do know is that it doesn't matter what those people believe or do, anybody can commit suicide regardless.

We all need to find what makes us happy in life, whether that's believing in God or not. :)

  14. Yeah, YouTube have severed 'business' with Logan Paul, but his channel has not been taken down. So it is a typical half-assed response.
