Are fetishes normal or porn induced?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Selfdiscovery, Jan 23, 2016.

  1. I know it depends on a couple how they want their sex life to be and what they want to do in this context. But i really wonder what we see in those pornified pictures, videos and other stuff is normal?
Is licking genitals;licking anus;ejaculation on body;getting overexcited, fast and violent in between;swallowing and other such acts are normal for humans or are these escalations and distorted means of sex by pornified culture?
Are we humans adopting this ,what is thrown to us by Porn industry?

whenever i get these tough questions,i turn to nature.we humans are also an animal basically.Other animals don't do these acts. They sex, they smell, some has season for sex, they only do genital penetration and so on....is it Porn/Media which has made these above things obvious nowadays or were these normal in early ages also?

I do not think violence is normal or healthy in a sexual relationship. Licking and sucking and massaging the erogenous zones seems fine to me though. I imagined much of this stuff long before I had any glimpse of porn. We are not the same as animals in all sorts of ways - some good, some bad. Not all animals are the same either. Some eat their sexual partners! Yikes!

  3. @IGY:

True igy.but that is what I'm also saying but in different way- we are animals but with superior features.sex is a need in general.we humans knew a lot of things still we experimented and developed HIV,STDs ,PIED ,ED and othr sexual ailments. But earlier it was not there.but when we crossed technological steps and started media(in any form)then it became normal and acceptable for a large mass even though it might not been practised in early ages.for instance earlier physical sex was acceptable but now pixeled sex is also becoming a reality(people accept it and thy do,leave addiction aside),still there are many who are jurking in front of pixels.
I have heard about "Kamasutra".its like a bible of sexuality.I have read about sculptures in ancient monuments for sexual positions and all.but no where seen/heard about licking, cumming, forcing, violence, even some call it eating partners parts-----lol!so this way I think our society is slowly accepting through media influences which we should not have?

I appreciate your thoughts ,right I said its a mutual consent.if both are agree then all is set to go....;)

But is it P/media culture from where we have or are adapting new stuffs?because there is no need to teach for sex ,its a natural instinct and without media also one can learn it.one can easily get how to reproduce-the crux of having sex!

When I was a kid, we had two pet rabbits, both males...My sister had the white one, mine was the grey one. My bunny was the "receiver"..Darn I hated that white bunny...

I have had this same thought. As a confidently straight man I am genuinely intrigued possibly by taking a more feminine approach to sexuality. I tend to think that certain pornographic scenarios first brought this to my attention. I think I would have always felt this way even if I had never watched pornography, but I think I would have realized it in a different way. It may have taken me longer to come to terms with. Without pornography I would have realized this is a much healthier fashion!

I think that turning to nature for explanation is wrong. We are "thinking" beings, so NOT animals. We have fantasies, animals don't. We make scenarios.

Oral stimulation is pretty much mainstream. Not all couples are into it, but still not a surprise if they do. It's not the porn industry that invented these acts. It's humans that fantasize about these things. The Porn industry puts it on screen. BUT the porn industry shows you women that enjoy it. Think about BSDM videos. It's depicting people that are enjoying it. I don't think many people would practice that in the bedroom. One perv might want to try some of that stuff on his old lady...hey honey, this is a gag-b4ll for you!!!! I mean really...NOT HAPPENING, not commonly anyway.

If they do and both are consensual, well more power to them! Everything violence, torture, r4pe fantasy, etc...is something that very few people actually do. Most people wouldn't even think of it. But the P industry did put it online for everybody to see.

The Marquis the Sade was a precursor of BSDM. 50 shades of grey is a fantasy book for ladies... I assume girls might get aroused by reading that. Doesn't say that they all run to the store to buy a whip....but Porn has the side effect of making us believe that its all acceptable.

  10. I just want to know how long does it take for a porn induced fetish to go away? Or will it never go away? And we just have to avoid it like a trigger?

Well, I have never seen the Kamasutra or any other sex manual, So I cannot confirm what it does/doesn't contain.

If it is truly porn induced, then the fetish is a symptom, just like all the others that get resolved as we heal and reboot. But the process takes a different length of time for different people. Also, if you keep relapsing the healing never really get started, let alone resolved.

Kamasutra, as far as I know, is an old Indian picture (sexual positions) book. Some positions are well-known. some others need acrobats to do lol.
Your mileage may vary. If it's really porn-induced, and you stop watching porn, the envy will drop eventually. If you are exposed to triggers, well, its playing with fire.

I have simple fetishes and I could be triggered by walking down the street, at the mall, office, and looking at Flickr "safe for work" site...so I have to clear my mind. If yo uare still infatuated by that fetish, that will be hard to get rid of.

If by chance your fetish is very "soft" and your girlfriend for example feels like she wants to help, that is something else. I got a fetish for shoes. So asking her to wear shoes is not a traumatizing experience, if she's willing to do it to turn me on. I DON'T need shoes involved to have a pleasurable sex experience. If I was in a situation where I would NEED my GF to wear shoes to have an erection that would be a bad thing.
BTW, my GF doesn't really support my fetish, so its dead in the water. I have to part with it. It's also something you have to consider; Is you fetish is liveable and viable to be kept and introduced into a relationship? If its violent or weird, degrading, shocking, hurting beliefs, well you got your answer...

Thanks for "spoiler trigger " shading and editing thread topic too! I just wanted to be straight forward.:)

  15. Well this debate is going as-
1.we cannot blame media/porn fully for this.
2.we cannot generalise it as well, its a stuff between two.
3.but if we humans like something and practise it then that becomes sort of obvious for us even if its harmful for us in long run.

Why i asked this question as -i read about this from different parts of this globe and they seemed similar to what i thought once. And some of us as said here, had this question in their heads at different times.
Further,no doubt that some of things were given by media/porn world and this had supported it to spread widely and rapidly like never before.thats harmful.may be these fatishes were there since a long even before media (in any form)came into existance but those were in pragmatic ,realistic form ,in between people involved in the act not as which is available today.I have heard some interviews by porn stars, some women replies here at NoFap that really they don't like some of things which I mentioned and asked here.I read an artical in a global newspaper that a husband force her wife to drink something that she refused to.This was very much taken from this pornified reciprocation only.so might be that's not natural as most of us accepted that.

Well keep opening up and clear the misconceptions spread if its around....
