I'm a College student that moved to the state of Utah from California a couple years ago, as an art major. I've been using porn on a regular basis since my early teens, come from a religious family, and have been struggling to find a place to connect for recovery in my local area.

I'm not a shy guy. I can socialize with new people, and I enjoy meeting and talking with others, but I don't tend to go out of my way to interact when people don't seem interested. My first few interactions with people are usually rather curt, as I'm really focused on getting my immediate job done. Most of my day is spent in front of the computer, and I'm not really sure how to move away from it.

While I'm not new to porn recovery, (I've been in church programs that specialized in Porn and Sex recovery) my experience has always been in a religious context, and one that isn't receptive to the phrase"I have to study naked people to get gud at art."
Most of the members tend to be in the later 40's and not in the same position as me, a single white guy who's going to school for art.

I want to be more purposeful about conversing online, and engaging with people, because I feel that I'm trapped to a chair infront of a computer.

First off, welcome to the NoFap community. I hope you can find mutual support contacts that will help you stay on track.
There are forums for reboot logs by age, you can check through the more age appropriate ones. Studying art certainly could have its challenges, though the low number of art majors here could speak to the possibility of studying art without getting caught up in PMO addiction. In your specific case, the extended hours at a monitor could give you opportunities, while the naked models could create motivating urges.
I imagine that you understand that the superficiality of PMO will not help you develop the depths of awareness and insights necessary to make good art. I hope that you will be able to come clean and develop your artistic abilities without having to limit yourself to landscapes.
    Best of luck.
    Stay strong.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Posting regularly here is the first one. I was thinking about it yesterday, and I think challenging myself to be consistently open is a good first step to improving my mental hygiene. Reading my bible is a second one, and keeping moving between different activities instead of being solely focused on one project to the exclusion of all others.

Trying to get better at being present in the site. Because I am someone who needs a routine to stick to. Otherwise I stick to ruts and that isn't an engine for self betterment.
