"Hello Yuttadhammo, my question is, Through meditation, could I learn to control my mind in a way that would enable me to destroy an addiction, or addictive tendencies? I'm addicted to pornography and masturbation. It's ruining my life, can you help?"

I don't really know too much about monks. But I'm not really sure about this monks views.

He's basically saying you can detach your self from anything in this life to the point it is no longer good or bad anymore. But the way he is coming across is he is living in a 24/7 meditated state, where the meditation is the only thing that is truly good about this life, that is the only thing that truly matters in this life.

He says hair is hair, a body is a body. He says there is basically no reason why we should want one body but not another body etc. So basically a beautiful female models body is no different to a big fat mans body. This is the way he is coming across.

He's also coming across like sex is simply an animistic behaviour. Newsflash, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for sex, monks wouldn't be here if it wasn't for sex, humans wouldn't be here if it wasn't for sex.

You learned your teachings and became a monk because you were born in to this world because you were conceived through sex.

Maybe it is good if you can learn to detach your self from literally anything to the point it no longer matters, to the point it is no longer good or bad. But to literally think that sex is just a pointless thing that doesn't even matter, I mean you wouldn't be here in the first place if it wasn't for sex. You wouldn't of became a monk and learned how to meditate and detach your self from everything if it wasn't for sex. You wouldn't of ever existed if it wasn't for sex.
