I've lost sleep and nearly relapsed the last two nights over it. I'm good in the day, but as soon as I try to go to sleep . . .
Today I was fine (she wasn't working) but as soon as I got in my car, the fantasy came back! I'm not even attracted to her, and I'll stand my ground during the day, but then my low self esteem and my addict team up and want me to give in, to submit, to her attempts to assert dominance.

Is it a coincidence that she went on the attack right after I had relapsed? I don't think so. I was weak. And I think women can sense that.

She was in the right legally. That is sexual harassment. Don’t mistake her presence for sexual availability. Especially if she made it crystal clear the lay she is not interested in you romantically. But protect yourself from being taken advantage of because you do like a girl. Get out date more find many many more new women to date. Go beast mode.

 

Asking for the undie pics wasn't the best move but maybe understandable. Asking for the apology was where you really lost the plot. She may have been wrong but that gives you absolutely no right to ask for an apology after what you did. You have to get that if you are going to move forward.

I do feel sorry for you that you ended up in this situation, I really do but it is so important that you understand what will have really pissed her off is trying to turn the whole situation around and blame her. You were both at fault but you lost any chance of anyone seeing that by asking for that apology. You should have immediately apologised to her.

I know this will sound judgemental and harsh but if you are to become a better person through this you have to get where your real fuck up is. You've proved that you can do the right thing and we can all become better people through our mistakes. You will never learn anything of true worth in life without some monumental fuck ups along the way.

 

In that case I should know absolutely everything by now!

Separately, the places I have worked for will only confirm dates of employment when people call for references. they won't say how you left, why you left, or anything else.

You're right in wanting to stay away from office romantic entanglements in the future. All roads there lead to trouble, whether its happening inside or outside of the work environment. Corporations are now very sensitive to sexual harassment because they don't want to be sued for letting it go on, and if you're a man, you're immediately suspect in any claim made. It might not be fair, but its the way it is. Seriously, don't even entertain sexual jokes if someone makes them, let them die on the vine. I once got threatened with HR by a female employee just because she thought I was coming on to her (I wasn't). It just goes to show how easily things can be misinterpreted on either side. Go to a bar, an online dating site, meet someone doing a shared activity, etc etc, anything but taking up with someone from work in any way. Having said that, I'm glad you tried to make amends and wish you all the best in your new job and continued improvement here.

 

Working 60 hours a week? That might be a good thing. Most of us get into trouble when we have a lot of idle time . . .
